Furthermore, appearances should be distinguished. Therefore, just as one's own decay, so too should things that possess decay be distinguished. Whatever nature exists by mutually abandoning each other, that all prevents its oneness. Therefore, even if this contradiction exists, it will also become coexistent. Therefore, the functions of the two contradictions are different. One prevents the touch of cold and warmth from becoming one, while the other is coexistence. The objects are also different, mutual abandonment is for all things and non-things, while the contradiction of not being able to coexist is only for things themselves. Therefore, because the functions are different and the objects are different, these two cannot be contained within one. These two kinds of contradictions, speech and omniscience, are impossible in these two. Like this, because of having omniscience without lacking causes, it is not to be thought that speech is non-existent. Omniscience is invisible, and invisibility is not necessarily non-thing. Therefore, this is not considered to be contradictory to others. It is also impossible for omniscience to exist by completely abandoning speech, because trees and so on that completely abandon speech would also become omniscient. Speech is also not completely abandoning omniscience, because trees and so on would also become speech. Precisely because there is no contradiction, the existence of speech will not prevent the existence of omniscience. If this is the case, if there is no contradiction, then just like a pot and a blanket, these two would also appear to be coexisting. Because it is not apparent, contradiction appears, and because of contradiction, it is thought that there is no thing, if there is doubt about this, then it is said "from the proof of non-contradiction", even if it is not observed, it cannot be proven to be contradictory. If even coexistence is not observed, even so, that is not a contradiction. Because merely not observing coexistence does not prove contradiction, but only when both are observed, can it be determined by the thing that prevents what should be prevented. Therefore, unobserved

Even if understood, it is not proven merely by speaking. Therefore, it cannot be understood as nothing else besides that. Similarly, because it is merely speaking, it cannot be assumed to possess desires and other afflictions. For example, if words and so on were the fruit of desires and other afflictions, then desires and other afflictions could be inferred from words and so on. But words and so on are not the fruit. Why is that? Because desire and words and so on are not established as cause and effect, therefore it is not a fruit, so it cannot be inferred from this. Even if words are not the fruit of desire and other afflictions, they still run together. Therefore, someone might suspect that because the words that run together with desire and other afflictions have disappeared, the words will also disappear. To this, I reply: Because other non-causal things have disappeared, it is impossible to think that other words and so on will disappear merely by seeing them running together. Therefore, it can be both speaking and being free from desires and other afflictions. Thus, it means "because of what." Therefore, for the omniscient one who is contrary to the non-omniscient one, who belongs to the dissimilar side, and for the one who does not possess desires and other afflictions, there is doubt that words and so on will disappear. Therefore, words and so on are uncertain. Like this, when stating each individual non-establishment and doubt, it is said to be a fault of reasoning. If one wants to say that it is a fault of reasoning when two statements are not established and there is doubt, then "two statements" are spoken. If two statements are established in reverse, then it is contradictory. Because there are three statements, therefore, in order to distinguish, it is said "which two." What shows the special nature is: existing in the similar side and not existing in the dissimilar side. It is connected to "established in reverse." "Being made" is the reasoning of nature. "Just produced" is the reasoning of the result. Birth and knowledge that have just occurred are called just produced. Birth refers to the nature like birth. Knowledge is the fruit of what is to be known. Here, it refers to the knowledge that has just occurred.
