No. "Seeing" is the act of making things manifest, which is the function of manifestation. It is discrimination, like this, when things are hidden, discrimination will discriminate itself, while "seeing" is the function of discrimination, that is, thinking "this is seeing", which is certain in experience. Therefore, abandoning its own function and showing the function of manifestation, from where there is attachment to what has been manifested before, only manifestation itself is valid. The first chapter of Manifestation. After explaining manifestation in this way, in order to show inference, it is said that "inference has two types", which are two differences. However, when the definition of inference is about to be explained, why is the classification suddenly shown? Answer: In order to explain that "inference for others is the nature of sound, and inference for oneself is the nature of knowledge." These two are very different and cannot have the same definition. Therefore, in order to clearly show the respective definitions of these two, the classification is shown. Classification is a clear classification, and after showing a clear classification, it is possible to show the definite definition for each clear point, otherwise it is not possible. Therefore, classification is mentioned only for the purpose of showing the definition. Recognizing that the definition cannot be shown without showing the classification, the classification is mentioned first. So, what are these two classifications? It is said "self-interest", that is, oneself, whoever makes oneself understand, that is self-interest. Other-interest is others, whoever makes others understand, that is other-interest. Among these two inferences of self-interest and other-interest, what is the difference between self-interest through knowledge? It is said "from the inference of the three-aspect reason", that is, whoever has the three aspects to be explained is the three aspects. The "this" that can be expressed is used to express things, so it is the reason. The knowledge of the person arising from the three-aspect reason is distinguished from the perspective of cause.

Because it arises from the cause and is based on the sign with three aspects, it is distinguished by "for that which is to be inferred." This is distinguished from the perspective of the place. Knowing that which arises from the sign with three aspects and is based on that which is to be inferred is self-benefit inference. In order to dispel the misinterpretation of the nature, it is said in order to dispel the misinterpretation of the result: Whatever is the result of valid cognition, the establishment of "black" is similar to direct perception here for that which is to be inferred, and it should be understood like direct perception. For example, in the experience similar to blue in direct perception, it is established as blue. Therefore, the cause of establishment similar to blue is valid cognition, and establishing the nature of understanding blue is the result of valid cognition. Similarly, when inference also arises as a blue aspect, it is established as the object of understanding blue, therefore, that which is similar to blue is the valid cognition here, and establishing the nature of blue discrimination is the result of valid cognition. The nature of blue discrimination is accomplished by the power of similarity, otherwise it is not. Thus, here the misinterpretations of number, nature, result, and object have been well dispelled in the chapter on direct perception. Because it has come to the time of showing the deficiency of what has been said, that is, the sign with three aspects, in order to show that itself, therefore, "the three aspects themselves" and so on are said. What are the three aspects of the sign? Saying that is the remainder of the word. What are the three aspects? The nature that will be explained, that is, that which is to be inferred, is determined to have the sign itself, this is one aspect. Although the word of determination is not mentioned here, however, the final pervasion, concomitance, and reverse pervasion also become what is to be observed. Because, for example, for the sprout, like the seed, only in a suitable way, it is not the reason for knowing the hidden sign, because it cannot be known from the unseen smoke. Pots and so on, like lamps, rely on generating knowledge of their own object and make the hidden appear.
