Listening to treatises is not as good as having other easier ways to achieve the purpose, and any meaningless doubts will not be pursued, so one will not engage in listening. If one speaks of connection, etc., then it is reasonable to have doubts about the meaning, because the author of the treatise shows the content that should be said at the beginning of the treatise in a reversed way, which is not necessary at all. Therefore, this is to state the necessity. The explainer may misinterpret for reasons such as love, but the author of the treatise will not. Therefore, in order to generate doubt about the meaning itself in the limb of entry, he said "benefit," etc., and the content that should be said at the beginning, etc. This also shows the necessity of what should be said. The nature of all these is the body of sound and the body of meaning. Among them, the part of sound, understanding the meaning itself is necessary, so it will not be without result in any case, but will naturally arise. In the part of meaning, one sees the situation that does not match the meaning, but such meaning should not be created, because all creations with thought are pervaded by necessity, and there is no necessary meaning close to personal purpose. Therefore, composing treatises is to show that it has results, so the necessity of what should be said should be explained. Because benefit and non-benefit, obtaining and abandoning are the results of correct knowledge, this treatise is composed to show these. Here, also through the statement of meaning, the content that should be said, and the necessity and connection of the actions of the author and the listener are stated. Through the statement of meaning, it is shown only by examining the classification of reality. "That" indicates the content that should be said. "Showing" indicates necessity, because one sentence cannot arbitrarily establish multiple meanings. Benefit is accomplishing what is desired. The opposite of this is non-benefit, which is not accomplishing what is desired, and accomplishing what is not desired. These themselves are what should be taken and abandoned, and what should be abandoned is neutrality.

Because the very act to be done is only to be abandoned, it is not beneficial. Therefore, there is no other form different from these. These themselves are the purpose of the person, because they are to be abandoned and adopted by the person who seeks them. They are also what is desired and not desired. However, in the world, even if accomplishing what is desired is also known as not beneficial, here, it is considered that only this kind of thing is beneficial and not beneficial. Because one who desires a result, knowing how to accomplish it, engages in it. And the result is also the desire itself, the characteristic of the result is desire, which is what will be explained. The means of accomplishment is also certain. Therefore, those who seek to take up the means of accomplishment, knowing what is the means of accomplishment and what is not, take up the means of accomplishment and abandon what is not the means of accomplishment. Therefore, for those who seek, the engagement that is preceded by knowledge for the sake of abandonment and adoption is because they engage in the objects of abandonment and adoption after having known them. Here, only what accomplishes what is desired and what does not accomplish it are beneficial and not beneficial. Therefore, it will be explained that obtaining and abandoning the means of accomplishing what is desired and not desired, happiness and suffering, from things such as saying, "Because the means of accomplishment is uncertain, it will not be grasped," etc., comes from correct knowledge. Among these, obtaining is taking up benefit, and abandoning is abandoning what is not beneficial. Correct knowledge is the cause that precedes, because knowledge is the cause, so knowledge precedes the result. Saying "precedes" means saying what is suitable to be shown. Correct knowledge is of two kinds: one is the nature of obtaining what is desired, appearing as functioning, but that is not to be distinguished. Like this, if one slightly distinguishes, "This is to be abandoned, this is to be adopted," if it is for the purpose of indicating, then all of that is only to be adopted by those who seek. The other is what appears as the means of accomplishment. For those who want to enter its realm but doubt that they will be deceived, whether it is valid cognition or not.
