The meaning of the treatise is the merit of space, because it is defiled. If the made itself is harmful, then at that time all that can be established will become the harmer of all (things). The commentary on the Valid Cognition of Established Conclusions is called "Context." The made is itself or arises from other efforts, and so on. The merit of space itself, as a dharma associated with that subject, is said to be harmful because it harms that subject itself, not other dharmas. That is the merit of space itself. The impermanence established by the made itself has no inconsistency. Apart from that, the unrelated merit of space itself causes harm. If it does not exist like selflessness, then the impermanence itself to be established will not arise, and that connection is the merit of space itself, and there is no distinction here. The harm to the treatise is the same as the case where other dharmas harm the treatise through other reasons. The difference of impermanence itself to be established, namely selflessness, if it is established that it does not exist, that should be abandoned. If it is established that the non-pervasive merit of space itself does not exist, that is not (to be abandoned). Why should this be abandoned? It is called "to be established." "Where it exists" refers to selflessness. If it does not exist, then if selflessness does not exist, the pervasive impermanence itself will also revert. Then should the merit of space itself, etc., also be abandoned? It is called "space." Even if it does not exist, even if the merit of space does not exist. "Other Vaisheshikas, etc." does not exhaust the explanation of the Compendium on Valid Cognition. Logicians, etc., are also the same. "Non-teaching" refers to "there is fire here," etc. The teaching of the meaning of the treatise itself is a vow. The meaning taught in the treatise is a vow, and the meaning not taught is not a vow, to show this, it says "thus." Whatever is scripture, that is a vow. Therefore, unestablished reasons, etc., also become faults of unestablishedness itself, etc., because they depend on scripture, so it will immediately show that it will not become a fault.

Such as earth. This is both the meaning of scripture and not a proposition. Therefore, stating unestablished reasons, etc., does not become a proposition, this is what is shown. The answer is "no." By its own nature, a proposition is not scripture, because statements such as "there is fire here" would also be scripture. Because of this, by its own nature, a proposition is not scripture, but it is because it shows the meaning of the proposition. That is also the unestablished reason, etc. From "all the meanings of the treatise" to the end of "is it not a proposition?" is the debate. Even so, although all the meanings of the treatise are to be established, it is not considered to be what is to be established, so how is it not a proposition? It is a well-spoken statement. Others also show establishment from other aspects, saying it is not a proposition, that is, also from the Compendium on Valid Cognition. Because of the definite clinging to only its own nature, it shows establishment, which is related to not being a proposition. If it is said that stating the means of proof itself, that is, the unestablished reason and the example, stating the means of proof itself, these are not propositions, because intention is mentioned, if it is said that considering what is to be established itself is the subject, therefore, this is not reasonable. Because what is to be established obtained by reason is the subject that is considered to be what is to be established, this is not contradictory to this statement. If you want to know why it is not contradictory, then it is showing reason, that is, considering what is to be established is the subject, this is showing reason. Reason itself is because of the promise of the treatise. However, the reason shown by the statement that considering what is to be established is the subject, why is it also the means of proof itself? Showing the means of proof itself is not what is to be established. It becomes a non-deceptive contradiction, that is, because of the promise of the treatise, this is one means of proof.

If saying something contrary to what is desired, that is something else, therefore these two will not become confused. If that is the case, then words like "is it so?" are what cause doubt, and the reason "because the treatise has been promised" is not what proves anything. Therefore, even if it is thought that seeing from the treatise is used to prove, how could it become what is to be proven? It will not change at all, because words like "intention" are not used to prove anything. If that is the case, then "if that is the case" is unreasonable. Furthermore, "also" refers to the qualities of space, etc. "Because it possesses that" means because it possesses the qualities of space. Other than the place of origin, it is also the realm of the ear. "In that very place" means in the very place of origin. Someone said that it resides far away. The answer is "then." Forms are also seen by those far away and not far away, so that too would become a quality of space. That is a quality of space. That is not heard either, because of that reason. From where is it also from valid cognition (pramāṇa). "From this very reason" means from "not relying is unreasonable." Others say that earth, etc., do not rely on space. Why? Because it is not a quality, but a substance. The answer is "if it is reliance," that is, from that very reason it is established that it is reliance, then the non-quality itself is not established. If space is the relied upon, this is the answer. "That itself" means the very relied upon of qualities. Why? Because of forms, etc. Welcoming the doubt is "with sal, etc." What makes it clear that it is not included in space is: what makes forms, etc., clear is: forms, etc., are. "Matching including" is the answer. "That" is with space. Smell also, because it cannot be distinguished as one with earth, will become not a quality of earth. If that place of sound, that relied upon, is also space itself, the answer is "then." Why is it thought not to be a quality of space? Like this. Furthermore
