When it is clear, the first aspect of approaching collection is what is called "there." "There" means when stating a wish. Therefore, to prevent the intention of composing treatises, one should not state oneself, saying "if." "That" refers to the intention of composing treatises being prevented. The debater says that welcoming doubt itself is not a wish, that is, composing treatises is a wish. In the intention of the opponent, if it exists, stating oneself will be prevented. "By itself" means by stating the wish itself. Thus, by stating the wish itself, to prevent the opponent and the listener and the intention of composing treatises from being things to be proven, stating oneself is meaningless, thus showing that. By stating oneself, it is established that all other wishes are prevented, at which point the teacher says that merely preventing the intention of composing treatises is called the result, saying "stating oneself." If one wonders what treatise expresses this necessity, then "oneself" means that is what is said. "For this" means for the debate of "if wish" and so on. "Explaining the sound" means the teacher Dignāga. If one thinks that even if it is for the meaning of that explanation, the meaning is another meaning, then it is said "this is done for that meaning," "that meaning" refers to the result of showing the prevention of the intention of composing treatises. Or, because stating oneself prevents all other wishes, if one needs to ask, is merely preventing the intention of composing treatises its necessity? "This is" means. The result of preventing the intention of composing treatises exists in those things, that is what is said. "If it is not so" means that if the intention of composing treatises is not the intention of the opponent, then one cannot understand the reason that contradicts the treatises. Because the reason wished for in that way is like that. By way of conclusion, explaining that "this is done for that meaning," answering the debate of "stating oneself also" is "because of that itself," that is, because of preventing the place of doubt. Then, how to prevent other wishes? Other

It is called "Explanation." Because there is no reversed understanding of the desires of others, it is only through effortlessness that it can be achieved, therefore it is desire. "That itself is" refers to preventing the desire of the treatise maker. "That itself is said" refers to even if it is not said. "Where is it thought that such an aspect is to be established?" It is answered by saying desire. "If" and so on are to enter the Pramāṇasamuccaya. "That" refers to the characteristic of benefiting others that is not past. In "Dharma and Dharmin," Dharma is only benefiting others, and Dharmin is the eye and so on. "If this difference itself is to be established, then how does it become a difference at this time? In any case, the difference is not to be established, because the general characteristic is to be established. Or, because what is to be established and the difference are one, is the difference also to be established?" The answer is: "What is to be established," and so on. Therefore, because the difference is not to be established, how can this be established by saying desire? "Then, is the difference not to be established?" The answer is: "The teacher said." "If the difference is not to be established, then at this time, in order to establish the difference of Dharma in reverse, it is contradictory, so how would the teacher Dignāga say it?" The word "etc." includes establishing the difference of Dharmin in reverse, etc. Therefore, if it is understood as "also thinking that the difference is to be established," then it is also unreasonable, because there is the fault of what was said before. From then on, it is thought that "from the perspective of difference, there will be no faults such as non-concomitance." "That said" means that because this is the answer of others, it is said. The difference of the characteristic of benefiting others that is not an aggregation, for merely saying that what the teacher Dignāga said is to be established, and saying that it is the difference between Dharma and Dharmin, ultimately, this is because it is only what is to be established because it takes desire as its object. "How can the difference to be established be said in reliance on others?" Wisdom is very...
