At that time, the knowledge that encounters existence is direct perception, and that is what should be said. Others are not without. Encounter is also the nature of the grasped and the grasper. If that is the case, then what meaning is abiding? What is said is existence. Or, the knowledge that arises from the senses and is without harm is direct perception, and that is what should be said. If one encounters existence, then what is the wisdom that arises from the senses of a person, that is direct perception, and that should not be said. To establish the second kind of conceptualization is what is meant by "if how". Therefore, one should clarify the nature of other Buddhas, etc., with the nature of one's own system. And for what purpose should the nature of the Buddhas, etc., be clarified? It is of the Buddha. If the nature of the Buddha cannot be clarified by our nature, even so it can accomplish the meaning of external objects, if one thinks like that. To seize a female donkey by speaking, beating, and taming, one cannot snatch it away. A female donkey is to be taken by riding on it. Therefore, if here also one is confused by the nature, then at that time can one also accomplish the meaning of external objects? When you are bound by the nature, then how do you accomplish the meaning of external objects? If that is the case, this is what the proponent says. It is not truly established, this is the meaning of the undecided dharma. "Other" means, when one burns the mistaken dharma with wisdom. For other systems, for the systems of the Buddhas, etc., even the name of dharma will be swallowed. Therefore, one should not say that it follows worldly fame, because the nature of dharma will also become established by the world. Therefore, one should follow what is established by valid cognition. To declare that, is what is meant by "therefore". "Likewise" means, as following what is established by valid cognition, there is no fault of infinity, likewise one should also do the nature. This also, valid cognition is the reason for dharma, that is what it means. "Before" means, the valid cognition that is established

Chapter. Thus, starting from refuting the characteristics of the Brahmins, what is expressed as the meaning of form in the characteristic treatises composed by Master Vasubandhu is the meaning of "from that meaning." The meaning of "that is" is the knowledge of two moons. The meaning of "from that nature" is from the characteristic of the appearance of two moons. The meaning of "from another" is from one moon. The teacher is Dignāga. Any knowledge that appears as an aspect is not produced from it. How is it? The meaning of "the five" is the consciousness of the five senses. Accumulated, that is, whatever is focused on the coarse, that is how it is formed. It is not produced from the coarse, but from the subtle particles. Explaining this is the meaning of "object." However, if knowledge is not of the nature of subtle particles, even if it is merely produced from it, will it become its own body? The meaning of "because it is the cause." The meaning of "those also" is the subtle particles of the eye and so on. The meaning of "how did the teacher say this" is the previous position. To this, what is expressed by the established tenet is the meaning of "this is." The debate and establishment is composed by Master Vasubandhu, that is the words. Showing the distinction is the meaning of "from that meaning." If, for the time being, any knowledge arises from the appearing meaning, if it is direct perception, then at that time this is not established. Knowledge is not produced from the appearing meaning, because it is the self-nature of the appearing. However, if direct perception also arises from its own nature, then the second moon is also uncertain because it arises from its own nature. The other refutation is the latter half. Explaining it in detail is the meaning of "subtle particles and so on themselves." The subtle particles and so on themselves are produced. If merely being the producer is the object, then the subtle particles of the eye and so on will also change. Now, explaining the first half in detail is the meaning of "why." The meaning of "it is also uncertain," in order to explain this, welcoming the doubt is the meaning of "why." The thing that appears as an aggregate is not an external object.
