“The other world also” is called an answer. Just as others have no realization, there is also no valid means to establish the realization of houses and monasteries, etc. Saying this is called “from the other world.” Furthermore, the pots and cloths, etc., that you see are also like that. To dispel the doubt of “besides seeing the realization of cloth and the corresponding words, can other realizations be established?” it is said “like that.” The answer is called inference. The fault raised by the word “also,” after stating it, explaining “not so,” is called “of the senses or.” “Suitability” refers to the power of the causes. Then, how do you realize it? The answer is: “The result itself.” “Those” refers to the senses and suitability. Therefore, someone doubts: then the senses, etc., will also not exist? If someone thinks: even if that is the case, what fault is there? The answer is: “If those are not there, then.” If the senses and suitability do not exist. Therefore, in the root verse it is also said: “Intelligence and arising will become without cause.” This is making a distinction. It is not without reason, but because of that. “Seeing the result” means following. “In that” refers to the senses, etc. Therefore, because there is also something to be inferred, it is said like this. “Such a characteristic” means that like the senses, etc., extremely hidden things can be inferred, this is certain. Because hidden things cannot be reached by direct perception. “General” refers to hidden things. If someone asks: why is it said that direct perception cannot know the general characteristic? The answer is: like this, because there is no conceptual thought. This is the statement of the thesis. Then, how is the general characteristic held? The answer is: “Without conceptual thought,” meaning that the general characteristic can only be held through conceptual thought. If someone says: holding the general characteristic is also only inference. The answer is: therefore, because direct perception cannot reach it. For the senses, etc., inference is the valid means, not direct perception. Thus, what is to be measured is only the self-characteristic. Like the realization of the characteristic of the self-characteristic and the general characteristic.
