Why don't the past, etc., appear? Because it is said to be in the past itself. This is just an approximate representation, and it should also be considered that "if it is in the future itself." Know that the past and the future are because they are not clear. How can the past and the future appear with their own nature? If the non-existent appears, then it is just confusion; if one's own nature appears, then it is just the present. If that is the case, then the past, etc., are not reasonable. However, if, like a mirror, in order to observe the meaning of transforming into the wisdom of the自在, how can it not degenerate into the past, etc.? It is said, "How are the past, etc.?" If you want to answer based on the analogy of the mirror, then at that time, just like a mirror, for wisdom, neither the past nor the future will transform, so how will it be realized? This is the final conclusion. It is also not reasonable for the present to transform into a mirror, because the meaning of the inverted nature is seen, and things with obstacles do not enter into it. Therefore, it is thought that it is difficult to avoid the idea that the 自在 also becomes confused by this analogy. So, if it is said that the present transforms into a mirror, then there is also the meaning of transformation there. If you doubt that the 世尊 realizes the past and the future, then how will realization also become just the present? It is said, "Such an appearance is." "If there is a mirror" is a representation, that is, if there is a face, etc. The power of the face and the mirror, etc., only the wisdom with that shape will arise, this itself is a supplementary meaning, there is no fault. Similarly, after encountering the dharma of the nature of gradual arising, the wisdom of the 世尊 will also generate the wisdom of that and that shape, but at that time the objects of the past, etc., are not nearby, so what will become excessive? Shape and the present only want to be the present. Because there is no other knowledge different from the knowledge of that shape, therefore it is not confusion, because there is no other shape. Having that shape is also distinguished and established as seeing the objects of the past, etc., from the difference in the way of appearance, just as it will be explained, how can that be simultaneous with the meaning, etc.? Therefore, there is no fault.

Therefore, it will be shown that there is no doubt. For others, since knowledge itself manifests as something completely non-existent, it is difficult to avoid falling into the fallacy of the present moment. If things are not clear, then since understanding is based solely on appearances, illusions will arise, making it difficult to avoid. However, if Ishvara also encounters past and future things, then the arising of such an appearance itself will become a way of understanding the past, etc., because there is no other possibility. Therefore, someone might suspect, "Appearances are the constant result." Therefore, (in the scripture) it is said, "Appearances are the constant result." The previously stated "constant without obstruction does not approach anything" is what this means. If that is the case, even if Ishvara only has non-resultant appearances, therefore if he clings to the past, etc., then the sky, etc., will also become like that, which is the meaning of the latter half. Thus, after refuting Ishvara's understanding of the past and future, refuting the understanding of all things in the present, that is the meaning of "if that thing is that thing." It means that seeking someone with knowledge is also to emphasize what has been said, and if certainty is seen, then the sound arising from that power will understand the meaning of certainty, and therefore it can become a cause for emphasis. When seeing things, if one cannot immediately understand with certainty, then at that time, since all things are seen, what is the meaning of the words spoken by Ishvara at that time, and what is not, that is its meaning. Therefore, the sound arising from the all-knower will become the expression of all things. Therefore, the statement that liberation is attained by pleasing Ishvara, since the meaning of the words is uncertain, will not be followed in any case. Therefore, seeing all things is meaningless. If even seeing all things, sound is uttered because of the desire to express a definite object, then sound will not become the expression of all things. If that is not the case, then you will also have the same fault, and if you doubt why it will not be so, then (in the scripture) it is said, "The intention to express is definite." The meaning is that the content one wants to express is considered to be different from a person.
