If (the cause) is not extinguished, then mere words are meaningless. However, even if it is extinguished, it is merely the words that cause such extinction. What is there to say about having no cause? However, even if ignorance is extinguished, if one asks: how is samsara, which has been established since beginningless time, established? The answer is: it is called ignorance and conceptual thought. This is a beginningless habit and familiarity, its complete maturation is awakening, and what it does is arising. Therefore, attachment and happiness, etc., are closely gathered as arising from familiarity. Having no cause contradicts arising, so is it unreasonable to say that suffering arises from familiarity? Someone says: having no cause itself is permanent, and it is revealed through familiarity. To this, it is necessary to explain the word "sometimes," for if an object that is not an object of focus arises only as an object of focus that did not exist before, then it exists. However, suffering is only due to "impermanence," and if it is not harmful and has no leaks, it will become like that, which is too extreme. What is shown is: these faults are because they are the basis of things like self-grasping and attachment that arise from familiarity, because they have leaks. It means that the cause has the essence of attachment to self and what belongs to self, but it is not just the cause, because it is too extreme like before. Its power depends on it. Its entity is itself. The word "also" is to include what follows "suffering" and to include the nature of having familiarity. In the commentary, it says: arising from familiarity depends on desire. Not being familiar with self-grasping, etc., is excellent, because it is the cause of suffering. From the opposite aspect of that, familiarity itself is also excellent, because it is incompatible. If one says, if "I" is the cause, then self-grasping does not arise from familiarity, because it is an object different from the body and senses, because in the state of mind, etc., the senses do not function, and even if the body is not observed, one experiences "I." Therefore, for each self-nature to become like that, that is why "is" is said.

Thinking in this way, it is called non-self. It is not clinging to self, and it is not self-cognizant for a while, because it is close to the object. The object of offering with objects and times is not certain either. Because it follows what is seen, and the seen body and so on are different from the external environment, because it is held by different objects and times, and because it is constant and continuous. Whatever arises from objects and times, that is considered the constant and pervasive lord. Therefore, I say that I am the pervasive lord. How is this statement established? It is true that I am not directly perceived, but because it is only nearby, it will become momentary. However, it can be inferred. Desire, hatred, effort, happiness, happiness, and the consciousness of suffering, etc., because they are the result, it is understood that the self, which is separated from the cause, becomes the basis. However, desire or hatred that has not been experienced or remembered is also not present, so experiences, memories, and desires at different times will not arise if there is no object existing at that time, as one thinks. It is also not a blessing, because it is the self that has become the basis of desire and so on. Because it is not seen as a basis, it arises only from the habitual impressions of experience, so it is not those, and it is not a blessing either, because it is related to this, it is the same basis as suffering. In the commentary, it is shown that it is reasonable elsewhere because it arises from habitual impressions, which is called non-cause. Among them, showing that it is not seen as a basis is called also constant. Although it is admitted to be constant, it is shown that not staying and acting sequentially are contradictory, which is called therefore from one. With this intention, it is shown that the Blessed One spoke of suffering in this way. It is called impermanence. That is connected with the indication of the cycle of suffering. Therefore, it is not a fault from the undefiled ones. Isn't it only from constancy, by the power of habituation and so on, that the object changes to other things? The essence is only constancy.
