For something that doesn't exist, that situation is impossible there, like coldness in fire. In the mindstream that has become accustomed to selflessness, the opposing aspect of clinging to self will not diminish either, which is called a contradictory example of pervasive function. Like ashes, it is uncertain. Wood turning into ashes, also like something that is extremely unchangeable, the cessation of faults by the opposing aspect will also occur, whatever that is, is also uncertain. For the argument "Whatever is the nature of something," etc., the reason is shown to be established by "Whatever is something," etc. Any sentient being who sees "I" and sees self, that is an illusion. Approaching the nature of that with its own nature, seeing that thing as self, that is actually permanent, that is, it will not perish. Attachment is obvious attachment to self. What harms it is also seeing selflessness. If he does not wish that, then because there is no harm, he is always attached to self, and in that way he will not be liberated. The argument is also, for what, the harm of the arising of what knowledge does not exist, then for that, knowledge will not regress, like for fire, at the time of recognizing warmth, the knowledge of warmth is like that. For the knowledge of clinging to self, for the arising of self, harm does not exist, which is called a contradictory example of pervasive function. It is also not unestablished, because for the object of observing self, there is no refutation. The argument is, whoever refutes something by way of seeing faults, then for that, the arising of attachment will not regress, like a lustful person for a beautiful woman, does not refute by way of seeing faults. And one who has self-view, also does not refute self by way of seeing faults, which is called a non-manifestation of pervasive function. Or, whoever does not have the sight of faults in something, and attachment arises there, then for that, he will not be separated from attachment, like a lustful person for a beautiful woman, does not see faults and attachment arises. And one who has self-view, is also one who does not have the sight of faults, and attachment arises there, this is
