It remains in saying "not that." Furthermore, if sentient beings have no beginning, that is not allowed. Then what is it? If it is acknowledged that sentient beings arise when something that did not exist before arises, then those that enter relying on homogeneity are not desire, etc., but rather the nature of the body. Therefore, just as the body has some such as hands, and does not have, and is large, and small, and has colors such as blue, and colors that are not that, and eyes, etc., are not incomplete, or other, therefore, since those dharmas are of uncertain birth, in that way, it is absurd for attachment, etc., to become uncertain. It will not change between only the desirous and the very desirous and the extremely desirous to desire itself. Therefore, pleasure and pain, and pleasantness and unpleasantness, and desire for food, etc., and hatred, and jealousy and stinginess, etc., and wisdom, etc., should be spoken of. Combination is that from what has not arisen, what did not exist before will arise, and which dharmas that did not exist before, That combination is not necessarily possessed of those dharmas, just as the body itself possesses differences in faculties, limbs, minor limbs, colors, and shapes that are uncertain. This previously non-existent person also arises without previous existence in the womb, and possessing previously non-existent desire, etc., this is called a contradictory pervasion. Or, whatever is the nature of the body, that is not necessarily related to birth, such as faculties and colors and shapes and limbs and minor limbs, etc. Pleasantness and unpleasantness, and desire and hatred, and desire for food, etc., and wisdom, etc., are also the nature of the body, this is called a contradictory pervasion. The cause of desire, etc., is the nature of arising, and as the nature of arising that is the cause of desire, etc., from this also some persons have not passed away, because the nature of arising has not passed away, because of the cause, because of possessing the desire, etc., produced by it, some desire.

Thus, if there is no separation from earth and so on. If one asserts that all beings possess desire and so on, this is the former position. The argument is that whatever does not go beyond the nature of the cause should logically become the effect of that cause, just as the collection of causes for a sprout does not go beyond the cause of the sprout. This individual (purusha) also does not go beyond the nature of the cause of desire and so on, the nature of arising, which is the reason of nature. Even if the individual does not go beyond the nature of arising, some of the body's attributes, such as its color, shape, and senses, are sometimes non-existent, so it is uncertain. Even so, it should be acknowledged and stated: if all that does not go beyond the nature of arising possesses attachment and so on, then all will become the same, because all attachment and so on is the nature of arising. The argument is that whatever does not have a special cause from something will not be different from it, just as sprouts and so on that do not have a special cause. The desire and so on of other individuals also do not have a special cause, which is the reason of nature. Although it may change in this way, if it is not because of the excellence of the elements. Although desire and so on may become the same, if the difference in desire and so on is due to the excellence of the elements. For example, some excellence in the changing elements of other individuals, which have increase and decrease, is the cause of desire and so on. Thus, the reason that the desire and so on of other individuals also do not have a special cause is not established. If this is the case, then whatever is a living being will not have the distinction of being alive, most alive, and very alive. Even if the elements do not have a distinction of living beings, then on what does this distinction depend? It depends on the excellent elements, which make it an attached one, a most attached one, and a very attached one.
