That which becomes special from habituation, that is, gradually, from extreme habituation, it becomes the very nature of that person. For example, a dhuta practitioner who practices cleanliness, that person has no aversion. The great compassion of all beings also becomes special from habituation, which is called the reason of nature. If it is said, "from habituation" and so on, it is to welcome the doubt of uncertainty. Even if there is a difference from habituation, it transcends nature, transcends heterogeneousness, and is not of the nature of self-nature that naturally proceeds, becoming the nature of great compassion and so on. What is it like? It is like clinging to jumping. For example, when a person who is extremely well-habituated jumps, he only presses down on a small area, not one yojana, nor half a yojana, not one yojana or more. Like the warmth of water, even if the warmth of water becomes extremely intense, it will not become burning even after a long time. In that way, because it does not transcend nature, is it uncertain? If it is said, even if it is done by that, etc., it is to answer the uncertainty by showing the reason with the difference. If any habituation, to anything, has made any difference, also because it still needs to be done, it also depends on effort. For example, jumping itself, which was previously obtained from effort, also does not become the nature of a person without relying on effort. For example, the warmth of water itself, which is produced by fire, is not independent of it. If the difference, that is, is unstable, is dependent, is changing. For example, the warmth of water itself, is the nature of becoming obtained, is the nature of exhaustion. At that time, if the difference of the latter itself does not increase, then the abiding itself will increase, that is the meaning. Natures, etc., are not like that. It is not self-naturally proceeding, for example, attachment, etc. For whatever reason it still needs to be done, how the proclaimed excellence is the abiding increase. That is capable of habituation, the excellence previously done, for the arising itself is capable of exhausting the ability. Because the accomplishers are all without ability. To whom...

Then, as for the later distinctions, it is because there is no ability to make the later distinctions become excellent. It is because there is always no basis. It is because it is the cause of instability. Even if the distinction of what arose earlier increases, even if it increases slightly, it is not self-nature, because it itself does not enter by its own power, and that must also be achieved through effort. For example, jumping and water becoming warm, like such cases where excellent growth is very little. At what time, if something is done, that is, if something excellent is done, because of entering, it no longer depends on effort. Even at that time, what comes after the achieved excellence will become a distinction that distinguishes other efforts. For the latter, it will become incapable of functioning. When the basis becomes stable, the later distinction will arise. If it is not so, then what is it that the noble hearers who have severed the lineage become its nature? Those who are said to be beneficial to the world, even if they have severed the lineage, the basis is not unstable. At the same time, after obtaining some actions of distinction such as love, it does not enter by relying on re-combination. However, the distinction that is obtained is one that enters without effort. For example: Love and other habits arise in the mind, It will enter naturally. The word "etc." includes joy and equanimity, etc. Like what? Like fire and wood, and mercury and gold, etc. For example, the qualities produced by the color produced by fire on wood, no matter how much, that is also because of its essence and does not depend on fire, just like that, if there is no obstacle, it will continue to make the latter more and more excellent until it all turns to ashes. Again, for example, through mixing and smelting, the gold has the characteristic of being completely pure, and its pure qualities are like not depending on the second mixing and smelting. For example, the later mixing and smelting is different from other actions, therefore, gradually mixing, this is complete purification. Similarly, for silver
