As a medium, it also causes the mind's consciousness to change, that is its meaning. It is not necessarily the case that it arises from necessary aggregates, etc. Transmission can also provide assistance, but that alone is not the proximate cause of what is to be assisted, because from the point of view of meaning, the mind also changes in this way. How is it understood? For example, in the catalog of some transmissions it says: In the mindstream without thought, the tiger itself and blood, etc., from hearing and seeing, hearing the sound of the tiger is the cause. The word "etc." is mentioned because of hearing the news of the death of a son, etc. Just as ignorance, etc. arise. The word "etc." is mentioned because it includes distraction and death, etc. Thus, in some differences of transmission, it also includes seeing blood, etc. The word "etc." is mentioned because it also includes seeing other frightening places, etc., thus causing fear and fainting, and hair standing on end, etc. Merely by these, it is not certain that the external object is the proximate cause of consciousness, because the occurrence of things does not change accordingly, so consciousness does not change accordingly. Just as after the previous consciousness, the subsequent consciousness necessarily follows, the aggregation of the body is not like that. Therefore, the discriminating consciousness that corresponds to the same kind necessarily arises following the aggregate. If the mind does not exist, it does not arise, because if it does not exist, it does not arise, so the mind depends on the mind. The mind that corresponds to the same kind is the proximate cause here, not the body as the proximate cause or the cause that directly acts together. It does not necessarily arise following the aggregate, just as eye consciousness arises following its object. Combination means that what necessarily arises following what aggregate, then if this does not exist, it does not arise, or it depends on this, for example, light necessarily arises following the lamp being lit. The immediately following mind also necessarily arises following the previous mind being lit, this is a reasoning of self-nature. What follows the aggregate

I don't necessarily allow it, that is not its direct proximate cause or co-existing cause, for example, after having done a good snow mountain piercing tool, it is not necessarily allowed. Consciousness is also not necessarily produced after the body is assembled, which, in relation to the second matter to be proved, is also because of the contradictory pervasive knowledge. Because it is actually not the direct proximate cause of the body, nor is it the co-existing cause, therefore, it disappears, the continuum of consciousness will not be cut off. The argument is that, for any thing, because it exists in the continuum of a certain thing, it is not a direct proximate cause or a co-existing cause, then when that thing disappears, it is not necessarily that that thing also disappears, such as a cow and cow dung. The body is also not the direct proximate cause or co-existing cause of the continuum of consciousness, this is because of the contradictory pervasive knowledge. Furthermore, Is the mind itself a capacity, a quality, or a result, whether it is a different thing from the body, or is it the body itself? If it is a different thing, then it is not dependent on the body, this has been said many times. If it is not different, it is the body itself, then, how to combine hearing and so on? The word "so on" includes the combination of diligently performing the secrets of craftsmanship and so on. After doing it, the mind, that is, at the same time, not definitely grasping the mind, is also for that mind itself, at a certain time, combining, appearing as the cause and condition. From the combination of hearing and so on, wisdom is outstanding, and from that combination itself, qualities appear at other times, like that, the body will also have changes in qualities. Why? Because there is no different reason. The argument is that, any thing that becomes the nature of any thing, through combination, that thing will become a combination, for example, when the mind combines, the mind itself will become a combination. The body is becoming the nature of the mind, this is the reason of nature. It is also not a change, therefore, even if it is a combination, there is no production of combination, therefore, that is not becoming its nature. Conversely, any combination
