It is unreasonable not to allow. Even if there is no contradiction for non-existent things, it is foolish to prevent the opposite from happening, this will definitely happen. If it is not like that, how would those wise people say that? Furthermore, if you do not want an irreversible reason for something that does not exist, then do you want the reason to be established? When asked like that, others will say no. So, if that is the case, then, when the reason itself does not exist, you will commit to preventing what does not exist. Even so, why do others not want the opposite to exist? Since you want to prove it through reasoning, it should not be thought that others saying these things are unreasonable. Therefore, apart from merely distinguishing, the negative statement that does not touch the thing itself is what is expected. The commentary on Pramāṇavārttika, volume forty. If only through distinguishing, will the reason prevent the particularity of the thing itself for what does not exist? When prevention occurs, the entity of the other party will become another existence. Therefore, it is desired to show non-existence in similar and dissimilar things, because at that time it is desired to express the negation of non-existence. Negation is not touching the thing that is the opposite of what is to be proven. If it is not like that, then the statement "constant is unmade," in order to show the particularity of the other party, in order to show what is not desired, if in the appropriate case, the thing to be proven is the opposite of the nature to be proven, if the opposite is not shown, then because there is no connection, the reason itself will not be shown. Therefore, merely distinguishing is not contradictory to what is desired, and doing so is faultless. Furthermore, affirmation and negation are the characteristics of mere distinction. Not understanding other terms arising from sound, affirmation and negation are terms arising from sound that have characteristics. Your argument does not exist for what does not exist. Therefore, it should not be said that affirmation and negation have no application of sound. Furthermore,
