This is certain, because if the non-cause is blocked, it is not permissible for life, etc., to appear. Thus, intelligence and the extraordinary efforts of the body, etc., because there is no reason whatsoever, life, etc., will not appear on a pot. If the body can also be seen by the reason of life, etc., if the intelligence, etc., capable of seeing does not change, then because its own cause disappears, it is reasonable that there is no life, etc., on the body. It is not existence, it is existence, that is the final conclusion. It is also not because the nature of the cause itself not being established disappears. Like this, if something depends on something, then when the universally existing disappears, disappearance should be inferred, or if the dependent thing exists, the universally existing thing also exists, existence should be inferred. It is not something that does not depend on others. Because some things are seen to have common properties, some things are inferred to exist or not exist. Because there is a slight common property. If there is no characteristic of dependence as described above, if only because not seeing selflessness, etc., it is thought that there is life, etc., on a living body, then it will be immediately understood, at that time, when inferring the thing of self, because it is a measurable thing. Because of the reason, pots, etc., are all with self, like a living body, why not infer with self? Although it will be like this, if you don't want it. If you don't want pots, etc., to ultimately be established as having self, then it is not something that needs to be proven. That is not right, like this, valid cognition is the cause of all desires. Therefore, whatever is established by valid cognition itself should be desired. Therefore, your desire, measurable things, etc., are also establishing self on pots, etc., since that is the case, why don't you want those to have self? Thus, if there is no valid cognition, then the distinction between things and non-things, this exists, this does not exist, what can be used to distinguish? Therefore, what is shown by valid cognition must undoubtedly be desired. If you also ask why you don't think that way? Like this, we understand such reasons

It is not so. The reason that can be understood has been explained. If it is to be explained, then it is what needs to be grasped. Memory and desire, etc., and the reasons for life, etc., when the self regresses, that which causes it to regress, will appear. Regarding this, it should be understood that memory, etc., are each a cause. For example, when someone does not carry what is seen, others such as the change of the tongue faculty, the memory and desire of saliva rising, etc.; the body's ability, wisdom, and effort, etc., are the cause of exhaling, inhaling, opening the eyes, and smiling. Similarly, it should be understood for others as well. These arising causes, memory and desire, etc., also arise from object, faculty, and consciousness respectively. From experience and the condition of the self as it is, memory arises, and similarly, desire and effort arise. These, namely object, faculty, and consciousness, also arise from their own kind, and from the cause of taking near of the same kind. However, it does not arise solely from the cause of taking near, but depends on auxiliary conditions. Depending on the co-operative condition of the self as it is, it is capable of acting, this is the concluding statement. Among the six consciousnesses, due to the regression of the result of unpleasant consciousness, etc., the ability of the eye, etc., will appear, due to distraction to other objects and obstacles, the subsequent consciousness will not arise, because of seeing distraction, therefore attention has the ability for all consciousnesses. Exhaling, inhaling, faculties, etc., the difference in the state of the previous equal share is the proximate cause, consciousness is the co-existent condition, because from their clarity and turbidity, the benefit and harm to the faculties can be seen. The action and regression of life, etc., are related to them. Therefore, only this much, when the causes gather, my things, having the characteristics of the six sense bases, depend on following and regressing. If it is also truly understood that in this ability, others such as self are also causes, then, if understood as other, it will be exhausted.
