D. Because of that very reason, it should be considered that the term "merely by promise" encompasses all words that indicate other meanings. Because if it is not so, then for the non-establishment of a specific basis, etc., such as the nature of the aspect, etc., there is a fault of relying on the later limb. Whatever exists, follows it; it is not so. "Merely by promise" will be said in this way. Because of that reason, the basis, etc., are not established; the non-establishment of a specific basis, etc., is not a fault of the aspect. Not a fault of the aspect, that is a synonym. By eliminating the own-nature of the dharma, it explains what the fault of the promise is. This shows that as a proving limb, the dharma and the subject, the difference, and the appropriate time, if the dharma to be established does not exist, it will not arise, and the own-nature of the subject itself, these harms. In that case, if it completely harms the very limb that is to be established, then, because of seeing the meaning, it is merely stating the aspect of the example. It is exemplifying the difference of the dharma. Eliminating the difference of the dharma, etc., should also be understood through this aspect. It needs to be shown that, for example, if it is promised that the limb and the thing with limbs are different, then the limb and the thing with limbs are not different, because there is no grasping of the difference of the scale beam being low. Thus, this eliminates the difference of others, but it does not merely eliminate others. Thus, if that is eliminated, it will become eliminating the own-nature of the dharma itself, but not its difference. What is desired is the example itself of eliminating the difference of the dharma. Therefore, what is eliminated is the other difference of heaviness, etc., which does not arise without existence. Thus, the other itself also has limbs. The limb and the thing with limbs are different, the thing with limbs is not a limb, this is also the characteristic of matter, that is, having function, having qualities, and the cause of suitable gathering, and having and seeing, that is, having the nature of appearance, it is desired to establish in this way, but it is not not seeing or not becoming a difference of the characteristic of matter, but merely the other itself. If it is not so, not seeing, not having difference, other.

When arguing only for some, there is no need to make a proposition. In that case, the beginning and so on would also become propositions different from the limbs. In that case, it would be the accomplishment of what the Buddhists desire. Like this, not seeing, seeing the atoms, obscurations and hindrances, etc., are without result. Because the Vaiseṣikas see and then prove seeing, etc., they desire the limbs to be established. Therefore, it must be undoubtedly assumed that they wish to prove the special characteristics of matter and what is seen through it. If it is said that it is not proving special qualities such as qualities, or only proving seeing, then if it is not a special quality and others are being proven, then in that case, there is nothing that Buddhists do not want, and in that case, establishment becomes the proof. Therefore, it should be said that what is to be proven is that which possesses other qualities, etc. If it is not like that, then this occasion itself will collapse. At that time, this has limbs, heavy and going down. The heaviness itself becomes a quality, and when it is the action of going down, like grinding stones, etc., measuring without mixing stones, compared to measuring with mixed stones, those who use them to create the third result of the limbs, at this time, the weight and downward movement of this become more obvious, and the scale becomes a lower difference. Therefore, just as when those unmixed ones are measured, at that time, if the other third result of matter, which has neither weight nor downward movement, then the limb is without qualities and actions, therefore, the cause of qualities and actions not being in harmony is not the limb. Because it has the nature of matter, therefore, the result of obscuration, etc., or one's own nature is not seen at all, the nature of the result, because it is not seen, because the cause has qualities, so it is not seen, therefore it is harmful. For what? For other differences, for those with names such as weight, etc. What kind of thing is it? If it does not exist, it does not arise, it has existence, that is, if there is no other dharma to be proven, it will not arise.
