If one directly refutes the meaning of a treatise with reasoning, it becomes a fault. If it is indeed because of a fault in the treatise that it becomes a harmful reason, then even by stating the harmful reason, if the opponent is faultless, it will become like an unestablished or other fallacious reason. If it is not like that, then even if it is stated, the opponent will not have a fault. If one asks this, it is not so. Like this: For other fallacious reasons, first state the dharma to be established that is desired, because there is no establishment, if the opponent speaks meaningless words, it becomes a fault, because it hinders what is desired. The statement of establishment itself is the cause of having no result. There is none here. If there is a reason that establishes impermanence, such as being made, then even if it harms something unrelated to the meaning of the treatise, the opponent will not have a fault. Why? Because what is desired to be established is impermanence, etc., that is for the sake of establishment, that is, for the sake of the cause. Furthermore, if some treatises, some may become inappropriate or unreasonable, if there is an inappropriate reason for establishment, then obtaining harm to things unrelated to the meaning of the treatise, for what is appropriate, and also reason and speech, all speech that is desired to be established is obstructive. For example, like saying, "You are not of the Brahmin caste." Such obstruction has no reason at all, however, this is like the king's law, or all the meanings seen in the treatise are the same, and one cannot state the establisher. Because all the meanings of the treatise are to be established, and none is the establisher, then all the reasons will have faults. Therefore, the to-be-established and the establisher, for all categories, the establisher is constant, therefore, the appropriate dharma to be established is established, which is the unrelated unestablished, or if there is a to-be-established, then the establisher has no fault. That is how it abides. If so,

If it is not to establish one dharma such as the qualities of space, then the reason for establishing sound as impermanent, such as being produced, is not flawed. If this is the case, even if one wants to establish something that does not desire other meanings, there is no harm to what is to be established. When permanence, etc., are established by audibility, etc., even if it is established, it will not become the fault of non-deceptive contradiction. If you ask this, it is not so, it is definitely contradictory, non-deceptive contradiction, the dharma to be established, those will become the harmers. On one subject, contradictory nature is not allowed, because on one subject, sound, permanence and impermanence do not exist in contradiction. If contradiction itself is established, it will harm the desire for impermanence. But there is no such contradiction here. Just as permanence and impermanence are contradictory, among appropriate and inappropriate dharmas, there is no contradiction between the appropriate to be established and the inappropriate, so how can one harm the other if one is established? For example, it is like obtaining the establishment that sound does not have impermanence and the qualities of space from being produced. Therefore, there is no contradiction in what is not harmful, established from one reason. If those appropriate and inappropriate are mutually harmful and harmed, even if they are not harmers, if one inappropriate is established in reverse from the meaning of the treatise, it will become a fault of the treatise, just like that, because the meaning of the treatise is reversed, there is no connection to the cause, because it is inappropriate, it will not arise without it, nor will it harm the desire for impermanence, etc. At that time, the treatise will become a fault, and that is also because of being produced, it is the same for reversing the qualities of earth for smell, just like that, it will also become contradictory to establish impermanence appropriately. Thus, for all reasons and treatises, if some dharmas are harmed, what are the others, that is also in a concluding way, all reasons are contradictory.
