It is called a word. Why is that? For what reason? Previously, without wisdom, it is not wisdom. If the previous consciousness is without power, the subsequent consciousness will not arise. How does one know oneself? By clinging to others, one loses ability. If consciousness makes the previous consciousness powerless by means of other objects, then consciousness does not arise. Even if one's own object is near, the arising of consciousness is not observed. If the subsequent consciousness relies on the previous consciousness, and it is said that the previous one has lost its ability, if there is no reliance, then why does the subsequent consciousness, which arises without reliance, not approach? If so, then it follows the previous consciousness. It is its result. If that is the case, because the previous consciousness follows attachment and distraction, etc. That of the latter is the proximate cause, at that time, the alaya-consciousness, from the proximate cause, the consciousness that arises instantaneously arises, what is that? It is the mind-consciousness clinging to other objects or not clinging. If so, if there is attachment to it, if consciousness arises in other objects, then it will not arise, therefore. The alaya-consciousness is not the proximate cause. However, it is only the mind-consciousness, because it follows its coming and going. If asked: Is there a mistake in that? There is no mistake in that. Thus, if different types arise instantaneously, if it is instantaneously acknowledged that the alaya-consciousness arises from the proximate cause of different types of consciousness, then the alaya-consciousness is a thing of cause and effect with each other, like that. The extremely clear mind, with the consciousness of clinging to other objects and losing ability, makes the alaya-consciousness itself unable to generate consciousness other than that. Thus, the powerless one will not generate other consciousness from the alaya-consciousness. It will not arise in the eye-consciousness, etc., which holds the aspect of other objects. If that is the case, then consciousness is not powerless, the previous consciousness is the cause of the subsequent consciousness. If as a cause

If it is not so at the time of that change, the mind intervenes. The preceding consciousness that intervenes is the same, that is, the ability. For other minds, the arising of later consciousness does not depend. If there is no ability because of attachment to others, etc., it will not change without ability. Because the mind depends on having ability, the conditions of eye consciousness, etc., will also arise simultaneously as they are, but not consciousness. However, consciousness arises gradually. That is, the gradual arising of consciousness is also completely established by dependence. It is explained that the preceding consciousness does not have the ability, and the subsequent consciousness that does not depend arises gradually. In this way, even if consciousness becomes the only cause, consciousness will arise individually. If it is not so, if the preceding wisdom that produces consciousness does not depend on each other and the later arises, then it will not be determined to arise individually. At that time, if all the discriminating wisdom arises simultaneously, but it is not so, therefore, from the determination of each preceding wisdom, it can be determined to produce a later wisdom. When someone thinks that one mind is a constant atom, if the mind is the only one, because it is the cause, it is different from it, when it is connected with the root, it does not depend on other roots, therefore it can be determined to produce wisdom individually. If so, because of attachment to one root, other minds do not depend, the difference of roots does not depend on other causes, so other consciousness will not arise simultaneously. If it is admitted that it is not determined from the ability of a preceding wisdom to be determined individually, then that and that are unreasonable. Why? Because in some cases it will arise simultaneously. In some cases, just like oneself, when the object is near, it is also seen that eye consciousness arises simultaneously, so the preceding has also been well proven. If this also intervenes in the same way, because it is the same. When the object is not very clear and exists nearby, or, in the case of some people, if they do not want to see other objects, let
