Its very nature is diverse. Therefore, for those with different understandings, things like hair and eggs are clearly visible. If, because of being clearly visible, direct perception is attained through the cognition of "this is it," then here too, because the truly existent differences are clearly visible, it will not become direct perception. Therefore, as it is said, how can what is clearly visible be the same as direct perception? This shows that it is mistaken. Because such cognition is mistaken, therefore, for cognition, letters and so on are not necessarily single and definite. By mentioning "etc.," it includes things like form. This cognition is also not dependent on the senses. What is clearly visible is dependent on the senses, which is another case, and cognitive conceptualization is also another case. Because there is no memory of previous experience, no recollection of previous experience, and no false imputation of things, that is, not imputing the nature of previously experienced things onto it, if there is no recognition of "this is it," then through falsely imputing the past things as identical to memory, cognition will arise, which is the so-called conclusion. The memory of previous experience and the false imputation of its nature are also not consciousness arising from the senses. If so, like the consciousness of mind, in order to understand things, it will be no different from things. If you prevent simultaneous arising of knowledge, then, when preventing, the knowledge of knowledge and seeing will occur simultaneously, because you have already admitted this, so others think that it can be experienced through simultaneously arising knowledge. However, you have promised that it is unreasonable for the experience of understanding things and the knowledge of things to arise simultaneously. Why is that? The answer is as follows: Because things and knowledge, these two, are not understood as appearing separately. That is to say, if the knowledge of things and what holds it arise simultaneously, then the knowledge of things will be seen as things appearing, and at the same moment, because the knowledge of experience holds something similar to things, therefore its knowledge will also be understood simultaneously as the appearance of things.

Thus, one should understand that these two, appearing simultaneously, are not recognized as different, and only then can one realize it. This itself is explained by "appearing as meaning" and so on. Just like that: The consciousness appearing as meaning, and the external object is merely meaning. Saying this, even if the two appearing as meaning would change, they do not change. If they change, then although the two appearing as meaning of those consciousnesses are different, the later mind of conceptual thought with the same aspect will hold the consciousness as having the same aspect, so it is attached in that way. If one understands it this way, it is also unreasonable to want to understand those consciousnesses, because it would fall into the fault of being without difference. Without different aspects of consciousness, things are different. When those consciousnesses are produced by consciousness with the same aspect, they will become different. Furthermore, meaning and consciousness, meaning and the consciousness of meaning, when are these experienced? At the time of experience, when it is not possible to recognize due to the difference of clear understanding, then how can those later be remembered separately, separately? If it cannot be remembered, it will change, for example, it will become "this meaning is like this, this consciousness is like this," and so on. Therefore, since the two appearing as meaning are not recognized, the simultaneous meaning-consciousness and consciousness are not consciousness. If meaning-consciousness and that consciousness arise simultaneously, then just like appearing as meaning, the appearance of consciousness can be recognized, saying this, where is the fault of the debate of various appearances themselves? This is difficult to remove, it is difficult to answer. Just like this: Meaning and the mind of meaning, even if they arise in sequence, if one wants the consciousness of meaning and consciousness to arise in sequence, then if the appearance of the two is not separated, it will not become recognition, because it will become recognizing as separated, but that is not so, just like that, blue and so on, one aspect will be recognized, and only experiencing not mixing with the consciousness of meaning, one experience will be recognized, the object of the experience of blue appearance, the experience appearing as blue, is not separately recognized as other experiences appearing in the consciousness of meaning, then, by what can one recognize meaning-consciousness?
