So. Furthermore, if this person, even if he hears that a decision has been made, but because of the speed, if he mistakenly thinks that there is no decision, then at that time, if the letters, if two short sounds are spoken, it will be mistaken for no decision. Decided from the senses, even if seen, but from the consciousness of hearing, even if there is a decision of hearing the letters, one should not mistakenly think that there is no decision from the senses without decision. Why? Because all the consciousness of the senses will become inverted. The appearance of form, sound, smell, and taste consciousness is uninterrupted, also because it is decided by the experience consciousness. The consciousness of distinction will also be the same, but the consciousness of the senses is not, this is a summary statement. Commentary on the Compendium on Valid Cognition, Volume Thirty-Five. Therefore, letters such as the letter A have names, and the nature of letters is all bounded, having the measure of the closing of the eyelids. The sentence "This has the measure of the closing of the eyelids" is combined separately. This is a summary statement of "the dharma established by the length of time of the closing of the eyelids." The closing of the eyelids is also gradual, because no dust is accumulated, and it reaches the ultimate without exceeding the dust, that is, it is completely perfect. Even the time of accumulating one dust, even the time of accumulating one extremely small dust, cannot be divided into smaller time, it will become a moment. Others, because it is possible to distinguish different times by the difference of accumulating two or three extremely small dusts, etc., the boundary of time is unreasonable. Just that moment is the moment of all consciousness. Letters are dharmas that are clearly established by multiple moments. From that order, letters will be held by consciousness. The consciousness that holds the letters, through gradual understanding, is decided by the self-aware consciousness, since this is the case, then from where does the holding of undecided letters arise? Even if the decision of the letters is heard, but because it is mistaken that those letters have no decision, it is the consciousness of the senses. If that is the case, then gradually, the holding of letters on the senses is spaced, and on form, etc., it is also held in the consciousness of the moment. Even if it is decided by others, it is through the consciousness of experience.

Because even if there is an interval in between, it appears as if there is no interval, just like holding onto letters. Without interval, it becomes the meaning of completely reversing the mind. Other than sensory illusions, sensory illusions, although not mixing, appear as if wheels and the like are mixed together all at once. If the difference between them cannot be distinguished, then it is not an illusion of mixing meanings together. If, like "This is exactly that," other intervals are seen, just like remembering the self-nature of being able to recognize the mixture, then it is not dependent on the senses that appear as one meaning. Things are mixers. For things that are not born of other things and are not interconnected, whatever connection says "This is exactly that" is, it has the illusion of being unable to distinguish differences. Even if the meanings have prior and later differences, it is an illusion caused by not being able to clearly distinguish. That memory is conceptual thought, not sensory consciousness. The memory that was just indicated is also conceptual, it is combined with speech, it is recognition. Where does the clear appearance itself come from? Because of what will it hold onto what appears as long letters and so on? The sensory consciousness that appears clearly is not mixed with sound, like this, the object taken by the senses is combined with sound, it is said to be non-existent, it has already been indicated before. When the discriminating consciousness does not combine sound with any object, that consciousness related to it is not like that, because there is no conceptual thought. The discriminating consciousness of the senses is clearly apparent, so if it cannot remember the meaning that was previously experienced, it will fabricate before and after and hold onto it. Because even if it is obscured by the self-awareness of hearing, what is heard as long letters and so on will appear without intervals. Although it will change like that, the interval is also seen by the senses. If conceptual thought makes the connection, if self-awareness has an interval, other meanings will be seen, although this is not mixing, but for consciousness, the discriminating consciousness of conceptual thought that observes after consciousness will say "This is exactly that" to make the connection, so it is said that the consciousness that sees the meaning has an interval.
