Its essence is, with the special function of grasping the self-nature of the measurable, appearing as if having function, but not actually having function, because all dharmas are without function. Especially, the bodiless is not the object of action itself. If asked, to what does it appear as having function? It is said, "one's own karma," that is, to form, etc. Even if the essence is not the agent, but because of its power, with the power similar to the measurable, it is established there, for the sake of distinguishing and imputing, that which is similar to the measurable is the cause of distinguishing and imputing, thus it is said to be the establisher, but not the ultimate truth. For example, fruits and causes, etc., because they arise with similar essence, although not having the function of the cause, although being without function, the world says that the cause holds the form. For example, when a fruit with form similar to the father is born from the father, it is said, "this holds the father's form," thus imputing. Likewise, here also, for the aspect that arises following the aspect of what has become the cause of the object, knowing as "this is, that which holds it," thus, relying on having the function of distinguishing, it is close to being imputed as valid cognition. Because it is so, it abandons the self-nature of the measurable, and cannot distinguish consciousness with other functions. Therefore, seeing, therefore, merely seeing the meaning, root connection and root encounter, and special wisdom, should be said as such. Seeing and root connection, and wisdom with distinguishing function, etc., are not desired as valid cognition. Seeing and root connection, and those agents with special function, because of deciding on the object of action, therefore it is the cause. Thus, object of action, karma, and agents, etc., even if all are closely connected, all agents, what is offered by others, that is, from the door of self and other, makes otherness. That is the excellent establisher, desiring to be the excellent establisher, that is the agent. Briefly speaking, the excellent establisher, these are also on the roots, why? Because it is the common cause of all. Because it is the cause of all consciousness. Even if the differences of many functions have arisen

That which has the same essence does not make it different from what is close to it and undecided. Even if it is different, although it is different due to differences such as unclear roots, that consciousness is not real, it is a consciousness that is the same as the object and separate from the object, this consciousness knows this meaning, this consciousness knows this meaning, this also, what is named by determination, is not from where it comes. It has been shown that the measure of the root is not, and the remainder is the explanation of seeing the meaning and so on. For example, because of the decision, the excellence of what is done is not established, so it is not a measure, as it is said. Thus, if there is no similarity, even seeing alone does not become different, because the seeing of the meaning itself is not established. If you do not want to establish the similarity of meaning, then this seeing this meaning will not be established either. If that is not established, then how can it be established? The wisdom with differences is also, this is also another remaining fault, why? If that is not real, if there is no similarity with the meaning, then with the difference of determination, this consciousness and the base consciousness of the difference, this is, these two are not different, there is no difference. Even if the difference is not established, this consciousness of difference is a measure, and what is outside of it is meaningless speech, where does this come from? If it is said that the similarity of the consciousness of difference is different, then it will become the establisher, and it will also become the result in understanding the meaning, because it is only the nature of that. Similarly, it is also true for other wisdoms and so on. Like the consciousness of difference, the base consciousness of difference will also definitely arise from similarity. That also becomes the measure and the result of the measure on that base of difference, thus, one of them is the measure and the other is the result, thus, thinking is meaningless. With this, one should not allow the difference and the base consciousness of difference itself to be the measure and the result. Why? Thus, one does not want the agent and the object to be different realms. The agent becomes the object, it is not close to other agents, nor is it done by others, so it is unreasonable to say that the two consciousnesses are different realms. If that fault
