It is not like that. Because it is like that, it is correct. What and what are impermanent, etc. What is incorrect is, such as the exhaustion ground, etc., is entirely aroused by one's own conceptualization. Having become extremely meditated, having become extremely accustomed, when meditation is completed, that is the clear, non-conceptual wisdom fruit. It is clear and also non-conceptual, therefore it is said that way. Such wisdom is clear and non-conceptual, because the fruit is there. Connecting the words in this way, this is the conclusion. Because even if it is not correct, it appears clear and becomes non-conceptual from the power of meditation, therefore, for those knowledges of the fruit of meditation, what is not deceiving? What is desired is the direct perception arising from meditation. If asked, what is it like? Like the previously examined objects. Just as when examining the truth previously, the object of valid cognition was correctly shown. The rest is approximate deception. For example, like the exhaustion ground, etc. For self-awareness, one does not want conceptualization either, because it is conceptualization of the object. This is explained by "What is the consciousness" etc. What consciousness grasps sound and meaning in what object? The consciousness that grasps names, that is conceptual because it grasps through sound. It is said to be connected with conceptualization. The nature of all consciousnesses is not sound and meaning, because it cannot be used as a name, therefore, because of that reason, for knowing the nature of sound and meaning there, all consciousnesses are non-conceptual, therefore, it is direct perception. By "Apparent direct perception"

The difference from those that are not the fruit of other actions is that this difference does not exist. Therefore, what the world calls "sound" refers to the meaning of connecting the collection of forms, etc., with its own result. Relying on this term, later, for things that are different from real things, it is also falsely assumed that vases, etc., are single, thus producing the conceptual thought of "vase." Similarly, relying on cutting off the moist fruit, there arises attachment to a single phenomenon, and for things that throw hands, etc., upwards, relying on the term formed by distinguishing things that are not so, it is falsely assumed that it has the function of lifting. In order to show the self-nature of realizing the meaning function by negating things, relying on the term, just as things become meaningful, it can show existence. Relying on indication, the term that produces one result from many collections can show the collection that is different from this as a basis, thus producing the false assumption that other things such as vases exist after all the matter of the vase. Therefore, it is said in the sutras that because other meanings are fabricated for things that exist conventionally, conceptual thoughts about their essence arise. After such detailed distinction, the knowledge of conceptual thought relying on terms is merely the conceptual thought of sound. For the conceptual thoughts of mirages, etc., if it is not produced by distinguishing non-water and relying on the term for water, then how can it enter into the conceptual thought relying on terms? Therefore, this will not become different. So what is it? Relying on the term for water that is not real, it will produce the fabrication of other meanings for the gathered phenomena. Therefore, it is said in the sutras that conceptual thoughts about water, etc., will arise. This is the second kind of consciousness that fabricates other meanings. For inference and things arising from inference, etc., there will arise an understanding of hidden things based on things seen previously.

It is said, "The knowledge of things like fruits is the conceptualization of experiencing the past." The so-called "conceptualization of hidden things" refers to the third conceptualization of hidden things. Therefore, there are three types of conceptualization. The non-conceptual knowledge arising from harming the senses is not direct perception, but rather apparent direct perception. Regarding this, in order to prove that it is not sense-born, it is said "two statements," that is, the two types of conceptualization, none of which are born from the senses, and this is said for the purpose of explaining this reason. Regarding this, if there is any doubt, then why is it said "in order to prove that it is not sense-born"? It is to show the error. Because outsiders have illusions about this, such as thinking that the cognition of mirages and conventionally existent things is born from the senses. Therefore, in order to distinguish this, it is said that the characteristic of direct perception is being without illusion. The so-called "in order to dispel the knowledge of harming the senses" is also false, because merely encountering and grasping things can dispel the knowledge of the second moon and so on, which arises from non-things. If it were not so, then it should be said "born from the senses." Inference and so on are also like this, therefore the words are combined as "because it is established." For example, inference arises from inference, and memory arises from speech. Knowledge is established by the power of remembering symbols that have been previously experienced. Therefore, even if inference and so on are established as the nature of conceptualization, when conceptualization is mentioned here, the first two are the ones, and this is to prove that conceptualization is not direct perception. The word "indeed" can be placed in other positions. For example, whatever arises relying on the memory of symbols that have been previously experienced is not direct perception, such as inference and so on. The explanation of "relying on symbols" and so on will be given. Why is there doubt about the first two types of conceptualization being direct perception? Because of what?
