Even if the causes are the same, but if there is a difference, then the view that happiness and so on are the essence of knowledge still holds. Through "what is the meaning after thorough proof" etc., it is thoroughly proven that oneself is experiencing. When oneself does not experience happiness and so on, will those simultaneously arising or later arising consciousnesses experience it? To this, it is temporarily considered not to be a simultaneously arising consciousness, because when things approach and manifest, consciousness and happiness etc. will arise. If things disappear, how can consciousness experience happiness etc.? Because there is no cause and object, it will be recognized that consciousness is clinging to the object that produces it. Therefore, it is impossible to completely determine that it is happiness etc. Even if it changes like that, the simultaneously arising consciousness will not experience happiness. Then what is it? If it is said that happiness etc. is recognized through the continuously entering consciousness and the later arising knowledge with the nature of ideation, if it is admitted that it is successively clinging, then when experiencing shape and experiencing happiness, there will be no continuous situation. Then what is it? If it is said that one sees first and then experiences happiness etc. later, then, between experiencing happiness and experiencing the object, if it is not with or without interval, that is also impossible. Because when the target object is determined, happiness will also be determined. Even if it changes like that, if because of the speed, the determination of the object and happiness is completely with or without interval, but if clinging to those uninterrupted situations, that is because of the illusion caused by rapid entry. Since this is the case, why not think that there is no experience? If because of the speed, when knowing that there is no interruption, just like entering quickly when experiencing happiness, then the consciousness that only clings to the object instead of the self-nature of experiencing happiness is also similar because of the speed. Therefore, why wouldn't it be recognized that there is no experience because of its influence? The sense consciousness itself is about the object and happiness...

The understanding that holds them simultaneously is also unreasonable. In this way, having abandoned the object from which the sense consciousness arises, how can it hold pleasure and so on, which are not objects, merely because they occur simultaneously? Because the sense consciousness that arises simultaneously, one cannot know two, so it is not reasonable to hold objects and pleasure and so on. Why? Because the consciousness of the sense is definite. Because the sense consciousness does not engage with other objects, the object is definite. It is also accepted that pleasure and so on are held by the mental consciousness, which arises from those combined with self and mind. Ability is understood from difference, but not merely from simultaneous occurrence. For consciousness, there is no such ability as pleasure and so on. Even if there is no pleasure and so on, even if there is not one pleasure and so on, sense consciousness can arise from things. In this way, because it arises from things, those pleasures and so on as causes cannot establish the ability to produce consciousness. Because that ability is not established, the sense consciousness does not hold pleasure and so on. Although it is so, just as even if there is not one blue and so on, it can become the consciousness of blue and so on, merely because of that, it cannot be said that each simultaneous blue and so on does not have the ability to produce consciousness. Similarly, both pleasure and so on and the object should also have ability for consciousness. If so, then there is no contradiction in holding both. If so, just as with blue and so on, if it is accepted that neither the object nor pleasure has ability separately, then without holding the object, like blue and so on, only pleasure will be held. Each blue and so on is also seen as having the ability to follow and differ. In this way, those collections are not without destroying the ability of their own consciousness. Similarly, each pleasure and so on either has no ability, or if it has ability, pleasure will also be experienced separately. If so, then what is promised will not be reasonable. Why? Because that is the cause of not holding the object as the cause.
