etc., because it is not in a state of changing accordingly, it does not depend on it. The argument is that whatever does not change according to the eye does not depend on the eye, like the consciousness of the ear. Saying that the definitive consciousness also does not change according to the eye is because the difference cannot be determined. Similarly, even if the body's faculties are harmed, there will be no intentional harm, until (this sentence). By abandoning the argument of the dharma of the proposition, it should also be said that the faculties of the ear etc. are prevented from being the basis. This can also prove that the consciousness of the mind is not dependent on the eye etc., because unlike the consciousness of the eye etc., it does not comprehend its meaning. The consciousness arising from the mind, unlike the consciousness of the eye, is not a comprehension with a clear appearance of form, so it does not depend on the eye. Similarly, it should also be said for the rest. Furthermore, the consciousness of discrimination does not change accordingly, so it is not only not a dharma of the object with faculties, but the body with faculties itself is the basis of the consciousness of the mind. Why? Because, if the mind's wisdom is destroyed, or when it is destroyed, those destructions of the eyes etc. will also see transformation or destruction. When desire, sorrow, and fear etc. harm the mind, it is seen that the eyes etc. are harmed, and because of joy etc., it is seen that the mind has a complete increase of a happy mind. Thus, the faculties change according to the mind's benefit and harm, so it is reasonable to depend on it. Just as the faculties have a state of existence when they exist, the mind's wisdom is the basis, similarly, the mind also has a state of existence when it exists, because the faculties also have it. Why is it not the basis? Furthermore, in the absence of feeling etc., even if there are no bodily faculties etc., there is wisdom, and when it does not exist, the faculties are not seen, so the cause of the body is only the mind, so it is the basis of wisdom.

If not the body, then what would become unaccustomed due to the destruction of the body? Because the cause of mind is not the body, but its cause. Therefore, some of the supports on which the mind dwells are of the same kind. That is, it relies on the mind itself, not on the body. Likewise, the senses are the cause, therefore the senses are from the mind, not the mind from the senses, this is the conclusion. Because even if all or individual senses are harmed, the mind is not harmed, therefore the senses are not the support. Even if all the senses are gone, the consciousness may transform, but it is unreasonable to perceive it as the support. Therefore, whatever follows the harm of the world is the dharma of the support. If it is not so, even if it disappears, it will not transform, then from what is the nature of the support? The senses also follow the mind consciousness, therefore it is the support. The mind, because it is not dependent on other than the body with mind and senses, nor is it accidental. The later mind has the characteristic of being able to accomplish, has the nature of habit, has the name of karma, therefore the previous consciousness is the support, this is certain. Therefore, at the time of complete birth with self-grasping etc., what kind of projector exists for the senses etc.? Later, at the time of death, it will become the same. Because all the causes are not incomplete, it will become the projector. Therefore, what can prevent the collection of the nature of cause with no obstruction, connecting in another existence? Connection is, whatever the state of the nature of its cause is without defect, that is its doer. For example, the consciousness itself of the previous state of the senses. Later, the consciousness is the state of the nature of the cause of the senses without incompleteness, this is the reason of nature. Whatever has the cause of production in any state, then the continuity of production will not be interrupted, like the previous state of the consciousness itself.
