Because of the imputation. If, like the apprehended entity, the generality of having aggregation and possession of nature is not undoubtedly apprehended without deception, because when seeing many entities, one sees other than distraction. Also, by the distinction of generality, etc., one knows other distinct entities, and if this is not definite, then the related is confused. The Samkhyas also consider the nature of sound, etc., to be one, and those sounds and those that emit sound are many because they are the nature of courage, etc. Therefore, it is established that they cannot be apprehended simultaneously. Why? If one does not apprehend the arrangement of pleasure, etc., because the arrangement of pleasure, etc., cannot apprehend sound, etc. When one apprehends the arrangement, one also apprehends the one with the arrangement. The connection is that whatever one apprehends the arrangement of, one also apprehends the one with the arrangement, just as when one apprehends the fist with the characteristic of finger arrangement, one apprehends the fingers. Also, the ears, etc., of this person apprehend sound, etc., which have the nature of pleasure, etc., which is the reason for the nature. From all also, etc., it is said that the nature of things that are not known in all ways from the root consciousness is explained. One indivisible thing is not of different natures, but from all, also, from different things, from the nature that has become special from the three realms, the nature of the pot, from what and what is it different? It is different from the nature of other things such as woolen cloth, and from that difference, the different is known as different. That is different from the object of difference such as woolen cloth, and that difference is different from that. Whatever has many natures that can be known and understood, that is called that. Depending on what and what is different, one can only know the imputed dharma that is not woolen cloth, etc. The thing with the characteristics of a pot, etc., is not truly divided. The natures are different, and that is the different dharma of things. If it is a distinction, it is the object of the discriminating consciousness, not the object of the non-discriminating mind. What are those similar to, and the senses

So, what kind of consciousness is not an object of experience? Sometimes what appears is not diverse. The so-called "diverse appearances" refer to the fact that for a single dharma, when attributes of various names such as knowledge itself are applied, the conceptual consciousness that distinguishes these is the object that can enter into the nature of various names. However, it is to be shown that sensory consciousness is not an appearance. Sensory consciousness is not diverse because it possesses the characteristic of grasping its own nature, which is determined in the nature of a single dharma. Therefore, how can those diverse things that are not diverse become objects? This is explained by "not diverse." The term "sometimes appearing" means that if different dharmas such as knowledge itself are examined, when those become objects of sensory consciousness, they will become able to enter independently, like conceptual consciousness, without relying on the proximity of external objects. This negates the existence of universals as entities. If you say that the similarities of universals such as whiteness itself, then it should also be concluded that it is not an object of non-discrimination. Why? Because the meaning of the existence of sensory objects is not what can be expressed by words. What is known by oneself, that is, the object of sensory experience, what is known by oneself, cannot be indicated. Why? Because the nature of consciousness is different. The consciousness arising from sound and the consciousness of the senses, these two appearances are different. What does not appear to the consciousness arising from sound is not the meaning of sound. Therefore, whiteness, etc., is what is to be grasped by consciousness with different natures, therefore, it is explained that it is not the object of sensory consciousness. The argument is: whatever is to be grasped from something by consciousness with different natures is not that thing itself, for example, the snowy mountain is to be grasped from a horse by consciousness with different natures. The object of sound, whiteness, etc., is also to be grasped from the object of the senses by consciousness with different natures, which indicates the contradictory difference.
