will become. Sesame, mustard seeds, and cowpea, etc., grow in areas that are divided, because they do not constitute other substances. For many of these things, why would there be simultaneous clinging? If one clings to each substance in sequence, then even things with different kinds, such as sesame and mustard seeds, will not constitute substances. How can one cling to those things that appear as different states simultaneously? Therefore, when all those things that become objects of use exist simultaneously, if this is obvious, then what reason is there to speak of? Even if what is seen has a sequence, because what is seen happens quickly and rapidly, there is no opportunity to think that mistakenly clinging to things without sequence is inverted. Therefore, for this inverted clinging according to sequence, speed has already been explained. It has already been refuted before. Furthermore, for substances that arise sequentially, such as sesame, etc., because the speed is the same, why not cling sequentially? If one clings to the concept of "one" itself, even if it becomes simultaneous clinging, it will not change. Therefore, there is no reason for simultaneous cognition here. Among all simultaneous consciousnesses, some consciousnesses do not stay for a long time, while others happen quickly. Therefore, in all simultaneous rapid consciousnesses, some consciousnesses, because they have obtained the particularity of the object, will manifest non-sequentiality and the object. Furthermore, how can sequentiality arise? When speed is the cause of simultaneous manifestation, speed is no different for all consciousnesses. Therefore, in clinging to all things, because of speed, this will either become non-sequential, or it will be like simultaneously seeing clinging to certain objects that one wants to manifest, because there is no difference from speed. If one cannot simultaneously cling to multiple substances, then the images of flower butterflies, etc., peacocks and flower carpets, etc., are not singular, but diverse, then how can the essence of blue, etc., appear simultaneously? It will not appear at all. Although it will become like that, if the diverse is one, then the feathers of the peacock, etc.

Therefore, one does not simultaneously grasp the various colors such as blue on a peacock feather. What is it then? If you say that it is seeing the unity of the different natures of the parts, then this is even more amazing than that. Isn't the term "various" referring to various natures? In any case, your saying that "various" is one is even more amazing than the nature of the peacock feather, this is after contemplation. Therefore, various is not a single self-nature. For example, like the shape of a jewel. If various different kinds of jewels are piled together, because of the different shapes, the mind will also manifest various different cognitions, therefore they are not a single whole. Similarly, the various natures such as blue that exist on a peacock are not a single self-nature. The syllogism is: whatever is various is not a single self-nature, for example, the shape of different kinds of jewels. The nature of the peacock feather is also a various self-nature, this refers to the determination of contradictory pervasion. Calico etc., blue etc., various forms are different. How are the colors such as blue distinguished in cloths and mats etc. made of various materials dyed with various colors? The mind does not focus on other shapes, but clings to different forms, clinging to "this is blue, this is yellow." Therefore, it is unreasonable to cling to them as a whole, and the same is true for peacock feathers, therefore the nature of peacock feathers etc. is not a single self-nature. The syllogism is: whatever various natures are distinguished and grasped separately by the mind in different ways such as blue etc., is not single, for example, the nature of calico made of silk threads of different colors. The shape of peacocks etc. is also distinguished and grasped by the mind in different ways such as blue, this refers to the determination of contradictory pervasion. If the individual parts appear only in that way, if "this is blue, this is yellow" etc. are distinguished in detail, then the mind that clings to the peacock feather is clinging to the nature of the individual parts, not clinging to the whole.
