Observe! The sign of the fruit arises in fire and so on, or becomes the nature of having been done, changing in impermanence and so on, but not becoming other forms. Commentary on the "Commentary on Valid Cognition," twenty-fifth chapter. Thus, because of what is produced by this lineage of causes, clinging to the thing that has become what kind of form, therefore it is real. If the object to be measured has the function of a thing, then the mind with the sign will change in that way, therefore it is non-deceptive. Therefore, even if all discriminations are similarly produced through transmission from their own characteristics, is it the case that the form of all things is as it is? It is not the same, but only some of them. Therefore, as it is said, at the time of the arising of the lineage of causes, what does not exist, like the cause of confusion, imputes a form that is not present in the thing, then that is inverted knowledge. If it arises from the distinction of the lineage of causes as described above, then it relies on the knowledge of the sign that understands the thing as it truly exists, thereby ascertaining the form that exists in the thing, and showing the form of the thing that is not inverted. By the establishment of its form, the form of the thing is established, and it is understood in this way. Like the object of the knowledge of the image of the face arising from the distinction of the collection, through the establishment of the marks and so on, the marks and so on of the face are established. This is the knowledge that clings to the form that exists in the thing, and entering into it is because of encountering such a thing. When a person does not enter, and does not encounter anything, then the discrimination related to the collection of causes of how it will change, because there is no clinging to other forms, it is valid cognition. Even so, if, like the existence of form, determining the thing to be inferred is the subsequent inference of discrimination, then it does not hold its own nature of its own essence through two kinds of causes, because it does not appear as seen, and

Because it arises from inference. If it were not so, then just as it is seen, the essence of things would appear clearly. If things did not have different characteristics from each other, then by what would one grasp the unclear thing? It is also not born relying solely on the negation of the other's reason, because just as it is seen, grasping its own essence, as a dharma arising from that (essence), it is not permissible to remain in inference. If a thing has the nature of remaining in inference, then the thing is likely to perish. For the past thing, it is also impossible to truly grasp its essence. The illusion of that (past thing) is also because the habit of experience is awakened, not caused by reasoning. Therefore, just like this, the cognition of the sign and the sign-possessor, as soon as it is indicated, the reason is like this, the cognition of the sign and the sign-possessor, whichever it is, those are the cognitions of the sign and the sign-possessor. For things, that is, the object to be measured. Because of the connection, that is, because of the cause, it appears there, even if it is emptiness. In those signs and sign-possessors, the appearance of their own characteristics is that appearance, even if it is empty, that is its meaning. Even if it is like that, it is not deceptive because the impermanence of the sign-possessor is determined. Just like it is not deceptive for the desired meaning. If it is said that the cognition arising from the sign is valid, therefore, that (cognition) should not be considered an illusion like direct perception, then it is said, "That is not a real deceiver, even so, the distinction of illusion is made. Those cognitions of the sign and the sign-possessor. Why? Because its nature is emptiness, because it is attached to its nature. Even if the nature of the sign and the sign-possessor is not grasped, it is also because it is attached to the meaning of the sign and the sign-possessor. For that which is not its thing, being attached like that is considered the cause of illusion," thus it is shown. If it is like that, even if it is an illusion, it is valid because it does not deceive the meaning, but it is an illusion because it is wrongly attached. Because like that, the thing and its connection, the sign makes one understand, therefore, the thing is to be realized, that is, it should be understood. Pervasion.
