It is for the sake of inference. If something exists, then by means of knowledge that possesses concomitance and contraposition, it is merely something that does not arise from that, and it establishes dependence on the opposite of that. Therefore, the sense faculty is established through the door of the result. Thus, this is not a connection, because if it is not established, then the knowledge of its result itself does not exist. For that, the nature of sound or meaning is permanent, because those are suitable for all. Relying on understanding the distinction, because there is no understanding, this is not understanding, because without the distinction of connection, it is not reasonable, or it is without reason. Just as understanding its distinction is certain, why not consider that what is indicated by sounds is also without reason? Therefore, for all connections, it will be understood without distinction, like that sign. Therefore, everything will be understood as being without distinction. Therefore, since meaning is understood by establishing connection, nothing depends on the correct instruction. If it is said that what is accompanied by the correct instruction is a sign, then what is the use of this lineage now? Why not directly rely on the correct instruction to understand the meaning? That sound is also seen to be well applied by those who have contemplation, otherwise it is not seen, because from what is seen and not seen, like smoke and so on, it generates inference. What is called "if not, it does not arise" is itself the connection. For this, neither the power of others is seen, nor the means of establishment is seen. If the connection between sound and meaning is not other, then it is non-different from that. Other than this, there is no other real existence. Other states are because they are the cause of different natures. What has its nature will become that itself. If it also transforms into different dharmas in the manner described earlier, then that is only without contradiction, but it is not a different thing. Other than difference and non-difference, there is nothing else for things, because its nature is the characteristic. The nature also does not go beyond the scope of discrimination. Furthermore, because the nature of things is different.

“Relationship is made by understanding.” This has been said before. A relationship with a mixed nature does not exist for things that are not mixed. Their relationship is also not another meaning, like this: How existence depends on others, things become the relationship of others. Established existence does not depend on others, and what is independent without dependence is not a relationship. If it is said that things refer to self-nature, then how can it be mixed with other things? Because self-nature exists in others, it is not said to be mixed with others. If it is said that it does not mix with things that are not mixed, but it does mix with things that are mixed, that is not correct. Because what makes them mix has not been established as mixing with them. Therefore, if things mix with other things, this will become too excessive, because there is no difference. Furthermore, letters become meaningless, and all words and so on are imputed non-entities. How can the ultimate relationship abide? If the expresser corresponds to it with the limbs of words, then even if the letters exist, they are expressers. Therefore, for them, they are expressers. Therefore, for them, the relationship between the object to be expressed and the expresser does not exist, because if they abide in them, they will excessively lose their own nature. If it is said that the letters themselves are expressers by the difference of arrangement, that is not correct. Because arrangement is not another meaning, there is no difference. Having its nature, there is no difference for other arrangements, so understanding will become the same. If the arrangement itself is another meaning, then it will be refuted later. Therefore, if letters are not expressers, then will words and so on become expressers? This is absolutely impossible, because difference and non-difference are contradictory. Therefore, the words and speech that appear to the conceptual mind that takes the similar habitual tendencies that follow the distinctions of sense consciousness are confused. What appears as one is only inverted, because one and many are not allowed.
