It is also not established what is to be proven, just as proving that snakes, etc., which have the characteristic of sleeping at night, live in the forest, together with consciousness. Because of the different expressions of doubt and desire, the reason argues with doubt. Wherever the meaning of the commitment is attached, the reason is mistaken, so it is stated as doubt. The meaning of the reason, starting from permanence, is also a similar subsequent action of doubt. For example, after doing as before, the immediate elimination, and seeing a living being, it becomes doubt, should this be made clear, or should it be produced? This is not reasonable, because if it is said that impermanence arises from those reasons, then, the object to be proven is falsely assumed to be uncertain, appearing to be so. If one observes this immediate arising and proves that it is destruction, then who would falsely assume that impermanence should be produced? Because for that too it is uncertain, it is doubt. Like this, observing the immediate elimination, because it exists in grass and water, etc., it appears to be uncertain, because destruction is what is to be proven. For things that are clear, there is also destruction, therefore it appears to be uncertain. The sign is not established, appearing to be so. It should be understood through fabrication. If, as a reason, one refutes the living being because of the immediate arising, then from that it appears that it is not established, because the observation of the immediate arising, which is stated as the reason, is not the cause of the immediate arising. The meaning does not wish for inconsistent aspects, the statement of what is to be proven has the same meaning. For example, if what arises from effort is impermanent, then by the power of meaning, lightning and other things that do not arise from effort are permanent, thus changing, in that way the understanding in meaning is the same. This is, for the object to be proven of another error, to prove with that appears to be so. From what arises from effort itself, to prove impermanence itself, for what does not arise from effort itself, to falsely assume the meaning of permanence, for that it is uncertain, previously fabricated. Therefore it appears to be uncertain, because for permanence also the reason does not enter, therefore from what is to be proven, from that it becomes uncertain. Or because of what arises from effort, impermanence itself.

Even without effort to prove "it is so," such as lightning, etc., disputes arise because impermanence has been proven. This seems uncertain, as it is not eternal either. It is also considered that the inference is similar. Any two are paths of reasoning. For example, as before, to prove, for the moment here, what is the reasoning that "the pot is impermanent"? This is like a similar example. Just as seeing the pot proven to be impermanent, the argument is also similar to an example without the concomitance of the object to be proven, therefore, such a situation appears as such. It has been said above that the result is similar, and the concomitance of the argument has also been said. These are just a few hints for all refutations. Just as answering that it is unreasonable to those refutations in a way that appears incomplete, etc., it is the same for the rest of the similar, etc. Just by a slight difference in applying these, infinite distinctions will arise. Therefore, what we say as "seemingly incomplete" and "seemingly unestablished," etc., is said after examining what is to be stated to the speaker. If not, then "the argument seems incomplete" and "the argument seems unestablished," etc., themselves will become the content to be stated. Even then, the text will become numerous, because in some cases, the refutation is shown through misunderstanding, so it is related to this; and by showing the sign of the non-male, the answer is also clearly related to this. The word similar should be understood as that in all conclusions, refutations will become similar. Therefore, for the moment, we state that for refutations, it seems incomplete, seems unestablished, etc. For refutations, in argument and proof, reversal, falsehood, and contradiction themselves are three faults. These three cannot be distinguished. Argument and proof are answering faults through reversal, untruth, and contradiction themselves, that is what is said. Among them, reversal is in accordance with the Dharma.
