Earth. Having heard that, the king thought: Since I had an inauspicious dream, it seems that the youth's eyes must have been damaged. He also said: Since I saw such signs in my dream before, there is no doubt that Kunala's eyes must be blind. Then the king wept bitterly and said: Fearing my son's suffering, my heart is about to break. Bring him to me quickly! When that man went to the elephant stable, he said to Kunala: Whose son are you? What is your name? Kunala said: The king named Ashoka (མྱ་ངན་མེད་པ་), who loves the warrior's caste, who makes this land prosperous, and can be sent at will. I am the son of that king, named Kunala. He is a relative of the Buddha Sun and also the son of a righteous person. After that, Kunala and his wife went to see King Ashoka. After that, King Ashoka saw that Kunala's eyes had been gouged out, his body was scorched by wind and drought, he was wearing clothes sewn from rags, and he was wearing a lower skirt, so he could not be recognized. Just seeing an outline, he said: Child, are you Kunala? God, yes, I am Kunala. Hearing this, the king fainted and fell to the ground. Then looking at Kunala's face, losing his eyes, his heart was filled with sorrow, Ashoka fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Crying out: Alas, my only son! After a while, the king was splashed with water and lifted from the ground and placed on the seat. After that, the king regained consciousness a little, held Kunala in his arms, and said: After a while, he sighed, embraced him with his tearful neck, kissed his face all over, and the king became very sad. After examining the eyes that were the same as Kunala's, I gave him this name. Looking at this son's eyes being gouged out, how can I still call him Kunala? He also said: This beautiful and radiant face of yours is like the moon in the sky losing its stars. Who made you lose your beautiful eyes? Poor child, speak, speak! This ruthless heart!

Who took you away? Like the Buddha, you realized the truth of the noble ones. Your beautiful eyes, without enemies, held a grudge, Doing this kind of thing is the root of my sorrow. Speak quickly, speak quickly about this matter. My body will also be destroyed. Your face is haggard, scorched by the flames of sorrow, Like enemies cutting down and burning a forest. Then, Kunala said to his father: One should not grieve over past events. From past karmas, even the Buddha cannot escape. Likewise, the Pratyekabuddha also abides in the fruit, And individual ordinary beings cannot be liberated. Haven't you heard the Buddha's teachings? If a king commits unwholesome deeds, The consequences will never disappear. Here, for the fruit of one's own actions, How can one say that this was done by others? Great king, I have made a mistake, Without mistakes, it would never be like this. Swords, vajras, poisons, and snakes, Cannot change the sky, nor can they cause harm. The owner of karma, the body is a weapon, For sentient beings, unwholesome suffering will arise. Then, King Ashoka, tormented by the flames of sorrow, said in his heart: Who dug out my son's beautiful eyes? Who began the extremely painful abandonment of life? My heart is burned by the flames of sorrow, What punishment should be imposed, quickly tell me, poor son. Kunala said: This young Kunala's, Eyes, let both be dug out. Sealed with the seal of teeth, This is a letter sent by the gods. The king said: These things, carefully considered, I have not even dreamed of. Why these words, Make me speak so much. Then, the young man, filled with tears, looked at the king and said: Lord of men, do not be disturbed by sorrow. Look, losing one's eyes is not beautiful. This is the burden of sins committed by people themselves, Landowner, the fruits of actions done by others will not be enjoyed by others. Landowner, if you have done unwholesome deeds, When they ripen, you will never be afraid. Such a result is done by oneself, How can one say that these were done by others? Other gods, the Bhagavan
