Born from seeing, born from the ten powers, born from the four fearlessnesses, born from the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, born from all perfections, born from supernormal knowledges and wisdom, born from abandoning all non-virtuous dharmas, born from perfectly gathering all virtuous dharmas, born from truth, born from reality itself, born from mindfulness. Friends, the body of the Thus-Gone One is born from immeasurable virtuous actions, you should thus generate faith in the body. Having obtained the state of dominion, no one should again do things in reverse, one should diligently practice the right conduct. And this right conduct arises from the chapter on Truth. The Dharma King who strives to protect beings should abide greatly by abiding in eight kinds of attention. What are the eight? For sentient beings belonging to the class of beings, generate the thought of a child; for the unruly, generate the thought of a sick person; for the suffering, generate the thought of compassion; for the happy, generate the thought of joy; for the unfriendly, generate the thought of seeing faults in their basis; for the friendly, generate the thought of following and protecting; for enjoyments, generate the thought of medicine; for oneself, generate the thought of selflessness. Great King, for sentient beings belonging to the class of beings, abiding with the thought of a child means that the king, like a father disciplining his son, even when subduing the unruly, does not abandon the thought of compassion. For the unruly, abiding with the thought of a sick person means that like a doctor, one does not become angry with those who cause harm, and applies remedies in order to completely eliminate faults. For the suffering, abiding with the thought of compassion means completely abandoning all harm and engaging in order to accomplish benefit. For the happy, abiding with the thought of joy means not generating covetousness for the wealth and possessions of others, and not generating jealousy. For the unfriendly, abiding with the thought of seeing faults in their basis means completely abandoning their basis, so that, needless to say, others, even enemies, can become friends. For the friendly, with the thought of following and protecting,

To abide with steadfast love and friendship with all. To abide with the perception of medicine for enjoyments is to completely abstain from wrong sexual conduct with desires, and to enjoy without attachment to enjoyments. To abide with the perception of selflessness towards oneself is to strive for the sake of Dharma, and to go to the presence of ascetics and Brahmins, thereby engaging in the practice of Dharma in accordance. Great King, a king who possesses these eight dharmas of abiding in mindfulness, even by merely offering gifts, his enjoyments will greatly increase, but one who does not possess Dharma, even if he accomplishes it through deceitful means and the seventh method, it will not increase in that way, thus it is said. In the Sutra of Completely Destroying Doubt, it is also said that if one possesses four dharmas, a king, one who is enthroned from the head of the lineage, will not fall into wrong views, becoming one who possesses Dharma, and will quickly please the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha, and will also fully enjoy great and perfect enjoyments. What are the four? They are abiding for the sake of protecting the teachings of the Tathagata. Reproaching sinful and unwholesome dharmas, and upholding the dharmas of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, and generating the unsurpassed perfect Bodhicitta, thus it is said. What are the unwholesome dharmas that should be completely abandoned? It comes from the chapter of the Essence of the Sun, in the future, the royal lineage, the Brahmin lineage, the Vaishya lineage, the Shudra lineage, etc., will steal and gradually encroach upon the foundations of houses, the foundations of fields, the foundations of monasteries, gardens, female servants, male servants, servants, bedding, cushions, medicine for the sick, utensils, and even shoes that have been given to the monks who abide in Dharma. From the royal lineage to the Shudra lineage, those people will quickly possess twenty undesirable dharmas in this life. What are the twenty? They will decline from the heavens, and their bad reputation will be spread in all directions, their friends, relatives, and
