Meaning: After filling the fish tail, etc., with water, examine in order what small things are on the top, middle, and bottom of the water. If there is no fish tail, etc., meaning: If there is no fish tail, etc., for observing the water, do as described below. Fill the bottle with a handful or leaves, meaning: If an accident occurs and there is no instrument for observation, fill the water with a handful or leaves or leaves, etc., to observe.
