Even when sick, if one eats with the awareness that it is the time for eating, it is said to be eating at the proper time. 'Recognizing non-time as time' means that from noon onwards until dawn, one should never eat, having recognized that which is not the time for eating as the time. Having recognized non-time as non-time, one should never eat the five foods and five condiments. 'The doctor advises because of illness' means that because of some illness, from noon onwards until dawn, if it is not the time for eating, and the doctor diagnoses that if one does not eat food there will be danger, and advises to eat some food, then the patient will not have any fault. From here onwards are the precepts of the ten vows of a novice monk, nine have passed, and now it is the tenth, which explains not touching gold and silver. 'Saley Sbrum is gold' means that in India there is the saying 'one with a silver image', gold and silver are arranged in order, and silver refers to silver itself. 'The patrons give it' means that recognizing that it is one's own gold and silver is not a fault. Therefore, if it is given by a patron, a king, or a Brahmin with faith, etc., the ascetic should not accept it. This refers to a holder of vows who abides in the precepts. 'I will not use this' means that because those gold and silver are not considered permissible for a novice monk to hold, one thinks of using this gold and silver to find permissible things, such as exchanging it for a begging bowl, robes, or medicine. 'Having clearly thought like that' means having clearly contemplated as mentioned above, 'then have someone else take it' means then having a servant or someone else take it. 'For the sake of the Three Jewels' means that there is no fault in offering gold and silver to the Three Jewels. 'Those who practice equally with Brahma' refers to bhikkhu and novice monk friends. In short, 'not mine, touching gold and silver' means collecting precious jewels, and even if I touch and hold those, there will be no fault.

Named, the precepts will not degenerate. Below this are the differences and order of novice monks, gurus, and inferiors. "Desire is an interruption," said the Complete Buddha, "It will not be an interruption," novice monks, do not speak foolishly. Named, there are two types of novice monks with assemblies, Kaṇḍaka and Mahā. Having established it by saying so, some careless novice monks speak randomly, saying this: Even if those desires are enjoyed in the middle, for the practice of virtue and liberation, it is said that the Tathāgata, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, said that even if they are enjoyed, they will not become obstacles to the practice of virtue and liberation. Novice monks, do not speak to foolish novice monks. Saying so, the Sangha, named, if a novice monk speaks the language of superiors, that is the Sangha, separated from all enjoyment, named, separated from the enjoyment of Dharma and material possessions, expelled from the monastery. Named, after striking the ghaṇṭā inside the monastery, drive them out beyond the boundary. Then it becomes like a corpse. Named, because the aspect of virtue has declined or been destroyed, the novice monk is like a corpse, just as a corpse has no qualities. He is also like a corpse because the aspect of virtue has declined. Or, because it is said to make it like a corpse and then expel it, therefore, strike the ghaṇṭā of the dead and expel it. Stretching and making horse sounds, etc., named, the mind does not abide in the aspect of virtue, and things that used to be done, such as laughing, should not be remembered or stretched or distracted, etc. In front of the guru and the Sangha, do not make playful gestures such as horse sounds. Think of death and do not do it. Named, what cause should one think of and not do? Think of death. Why? Because it is momentary, like saying that novice monks die in an instant. Also, the great impermanence of death will come unexpectedly. No matter when it comes, it cannot be determined, so it is not right to die without accumulating merit. Think like that and do not do it. "With the hand when yawning" means that once when an ascetic was yawning,
