If one builds something impure, it constitutes an offense. The search for these will be explained below. The term "residing without permission" refers to building something permanently without seeking permission from the Sangha. The term "completed" means that the offense is incurred only after the entire construction is finished. The following is also the same, "except for what has been dismantled" means that, apart from the parts dismantled from the previously mentioned elements, all other parts also indicate that they are part of the construction of a temple. The term "for one" means that the offense is incurred for building a house for one person. The term "one" does not refer to an individual monk, but also refers to incurring an offense for the sake of one layperson. If building all houses constitutes an offense, is that so? No, it refers to "exceeding the limit," and if one builds exceeding the limit, it constitutes an offense. What are the "impure things" mentioned earlier? That which is unexamined, contentious, and unabandoned is considered impure. What are these like? A small nest of venomous snakes, the houses of kings and gods, the places of heretics and places where arrows accumulate, trees that are not cut down, and dangerous areas within a fathom, such as places separated by rivers, ravines, and wells, these are in order. Among them, the term "small nest of venomous snakes" refers to that which is unexamined. What is said from "king" to "trees that are not cut down" are all contentious. What is said from "a fathom" to "separated by wells" are all unabandoned. What is the limit of "exceeding the limit" mentioned earlier? Half a cubit and a span of the standard is the height of the Sugata, which means showing the height of the Sugata with half a cubit and a span of an ordinary person. The way to show the size of the house with this is: the internal dimension is twelve and seven of that, which means that the internal dimension of the house is twelve times the height of the Sugata, half a cubit and a span is the height of the Sugata, which means that if one exceeds the seven dimensions of the height of the Sugata, one will incur an offense. Regarding the "permission" mentioned earlier, what is the extent of the permission? The permission obtained from the Sangha is the permission, which means that after the permission is sought, the Sangha grants permission, then it is considered a successful permission. If it is impure, then do not seek permission.

If it is only to the extent of having faults such as not investigating, then do not make a request to ask the Sangha to investigate. The monks who have not been appointed themselves should understand and believe, meaning that if you ask the Sangha to build a house, then the Sangha itself should start the investigation, or some of the appointed monks should investigate and determine it. The bed is also the same, meaning that if you ask for the precepts to accomplish the bed for those who are under six years old, the Sangha should also understand this method. It is not a sin to find and use what has been done, meaning that it is not a sin to find what has been built before or to use it. It is also okay to repair the old, meaning that it is shown that it is not a sin to repair the old one before. This is to distinguish the Sanghavasesa of the house. Building a temple is a branch of Sanghavasesa, because it has been mentioned above, so it is only to show its difference, that is, for the sake of the Sangha, meaning that if it is built for more than four Sanghas, even a layman will become Sanghavasesa. The scripture says that for the Sangha of the Buddha's disciples, this is only one of the topics. This is to distinguish the Sanghavasesa of the temple. Because these two Sanghavasesas are similar, they are combined and shown together from the questions that appear, that is, starting is combining, etc., meaning that if you start building, it is shown as combining. If it is not covered, it is the same even if it is completed, meaning that it is only shown to be rough, even if other houses or temples have been completed in the middle of the beginning. If it is for many, it means that even if there are faults such as not investigating the building of the house, it is not for one, but for many, it is shown as rough, etc. If it is not given, it means that even if the land for building the house is not given by others, it is also shown as rough. If you ask why it will not become a downfall, it is because there is no idea of permanently owning the land, but there is an idea that it will become one's own house. If it is an individual, it means that the property for building the house is not begged from others, but is made rough by the individual's own property. It is also okay if it is not finished, meaning that it takes over the unfinished construction of others.
