Vinaya Sutra Explanation Vinaya Sutra Explanation In Sanskrit: Vinaya-sūtra-vyākhyāna. (Vinaya Sutra Explanation). Homage to the All-Knowing One! When the teacher Yönten Ö (Yon tan 'od) composed the treatise called "Vinaya Sutra," he said at the beginning, "It definitely belongs to the principle of the Vehicle." This statement applies to all the sutras that appear below. In this regard, even ordinary speech or words require an introduction. If there is no necessity or connection, people who initially contemplate and enter will not listen. How much more so for treatises and excellent activities, these four aspects are indispensable. Therefore, in order to dispel doubts about the absence of an introduction, the necessity of meaninglessness, the doubt of necessity, and the necessity of the necessity of necessity, these four aspects are stated either explicitly or implicitly. Among them, in all the Vinaya collections of these Dharma schools, the principle of the seven objects of training that summarize the precepts is called "principle," and this is the introduction. The precepts spoken by the Bhagavan, which prevent the naturally unwholesome, are this and this. Preventing the prescribed unwholesome is this and this, which is explained in detail, and this is the necessity. Through these two aspects, it is shown that everything mentioned in this Vinaya Sutra can be understood, which shows the connection between means and means, or action and agent. Mentioning "definite Vehicle" is to show the necessity of necessity. Among them, the introduction and the necessity of necessity are explicitly shown as "principle" and "definite Vehicle." Since merely mentioning the name "principle" does not fully accomplish the intended meaning, it is necessary to fully explain the intended object, which is the precepts. Moreover, since the purpose of writing this sutra is not for such a meaning, it is not written. The sutra is a method or accomplishment, and explaining the precepts is a method or being accomplished. Therefore, since there is a connection between means and means, or accomplishment and being accomplished, necessity and connection are explained implicitly. Among them, "definite Vehicle" refers to obtaining the non-returning, complete Nirvana, unlike worldly Nirvana, which may return again. Moreover, for vehicles such as elephants, it does not

O! Thus, the complete cessation of suffering, Nirvana, is attained through perfectly pure discipline, hence it is called the method of certain liberation. To this, a debater might say, "Afflictions are destroyed by wisdom." Then, how is Nirvana attained through discipline?" As an answer to this question: That is also true, but because it is said in the scriptures, "Abiding in discipline, relying on discipline, one will see the four noble truths as they are." Therefore, abiding in discipline, in order to generate the stages of listening, contemplating, and meditating, because discipline is the cause, there is no contradiction in saying that Nirvana is attained through the lineage of discipline. To this, another debater might say, "Is this Vinaya Sutra composed in order to show the necessity of conduct and discipline?" The explanation of discipline has already been extensively explained in other treatises, such as the Pratimoksha Sutra. What is the necessity of you composing this sutra?" As an answer to this question: Although it cannot be said that other treatises do not have more extensive explanations, but because those treatises mostly have introductions, sequels, and stories, some people may be frightened, and in order to refute wrong views, and in order to explain the Pratimoksha Sutra without distortion, this sutra, which briefly explains the essentials of the training, is composed. Atha, is like what is said in the medical texts: Atha, explaining the science of longevity. This is like an auspicious word, Atha, when the Bhagavan entered Nirvana, he taught the monks. This is like starting to write in order to guide, Atha, after dispelling all doubts, this is like connecting with the following text, Atha, words should be explained, this is like to explain its meaning, or for that reason. The desires of the world are not uniform, but are the distinctions of individuals, although there are various desires in the world, the Buddha's teachings can eliminate greed. Like this, there are also cases of quoting "Atha, although." Like this, there are many kinds of quotations, but here, the teacher Yönten Ö himself says in the Extensive Explanation of the Vinaya Sutra: Atha, is for mastering, or for conforming to each sutra.
