Now I will explain. If one cuts off a person's hand, it is a gross offense, referring to the hand. Some explain that cutting off a hand with the intention to kill is a gross offense, but that is included in the act of killing, so it should not be understood that way here. It refers to intimidating and being malicious at heart; cutting off a hand becomes a gross offense. Setting fire to a garden means knowing there are sentient beings, suspecting there are sentient beings, or knowing there are no sentient beings. If one knows or suspects there are sentient beings and sets a fire, then any being that is burned, like being charred, constitutes an offense. This means that even if one knows there are sentient beings, one does not consider them and sets a fire for some need, so it is a gross offense. Selling someone with hair does not refer to someone with hair, but rather that not selling would become a gross offense. Offering something stolen to the king's entourage is not offering it for the purpose of killing, but offering it out of inner anger, which becomes a gross offense. A father who kills belongs to a minor defeat (offense). Having explained the circumstances arising from minor (offenses) in this way, now I will explain the circumstances arising from questioning, such as "indicating secretly," and so on. If someone who has a feud with oneself is feared by the executioner, or is happy to be caught, and curses and indicates, saying, "He went this way, or is over there," then indicating at that time becomes a gross offense. The examples are a mother and a fetus. Many people fear the executioner's reputation outside, and one of them is happy to kill, so they indicate and hide, and eventually everyone is caught. What offense would it be if they were capped? It refers to the person who is happy to kill; indicating at that time is a gross offense. After killing, it becomes a defeat (offense). Some think that catching that accomplice, if many people are killed, it becomes a gross offense, like squeezing a fetus. Hanging oneself is a gross offense, referring to killing oneself, etc., which becomes a gross offense. This should be considered at the time of implementation. Doing something unwholesome out of absentmindedness is called a "minor offense," such as indicating to the executioner, etc. Although there is no intention to kill, speaking or indicating out of absentmindedness becomes a minor offense. If something is accomplished unintentionally, it is not an action, meaning that one did not specifically intend to kill, but died from a quarrel or fight, it will not become a defeat (offense). Karma will not arise in the next life, referring to using it to kill others, but oneself dies cowardly, or together with that person.

It is shown that, like a dead animal, it does not become the sin of killing because it has transformed into another life. The father of killing belongs to having confessed a defeat. If someone says, "I am going to die soon," but you don't believe it and do it anyway, it's a gross offense. For example, if the patient says, "I can't handle bathing and walking, I'm going to die," but without considering the patient's condition, you forcibly drag them to bathe and walk, it's a gross offense. "If they die" means that if you don't take care of the patient, even if they die quickly, and you think it's natural and don't take care of them, it's a gross offense. Giving unsuitable food means that if you know the food is unsuitable for the patient but still give it, it's a gross offense. Forcibly squeezing unripe abscesses is also a gross offense. Forcibly pressing someone into the ground or squeezing them in a doorway, etc., even if you just give up on such forceful actions, it's a gross offense. What has been shown up to this point is that even if there is no intention to kill, it is still a gross offense because the behavior is rough. Throwing someone off a cliff or obstructing them, etc., if you try to make them die, even if they don't die, it's still a gross offense. Don't casually give the patient swords and ropes, which means don't give ropes, etc., casually without a special need, or without considering whether the patient wants to die, or without considering the patient's physical condition. The "don't leave the implements of death" mentioned earlier is something that nurses should do, but this is something that all monks should pay attention to. You should know how to take care of things, which means that when cooking food, you should be careful not to let the workers get sick from overwork, and you should wash the food with rainwater. Slapping the palm with a mantra is also, which means that for a patient who is possessed by a ghost, you should recite a mantra and then slap the palm, and you should do this in moderation, without being too rough. Squeezing swollen areas is also, which means squeezing to drain the swelling, and you should also do it in moderation. Bowel movements should also be handled very carefully, which means that when discharging bowel movements, you should carefully observe whether there is someone below, as mentioned earlier, and then discharge them. Don't carry leftover food and heavy...
