English

That which is said to "not change" means that if someone acting together or a nearby thief takes something, uses it up, and takes possession of it, then steals and takes it again, they become a thief. That which is called "surrounding" means surrounding with a house foundation or a fence, etc., and stealing means that even if only slightly surrounded by a fence, etc., one becomes a thief. If something on the boundary is moved, saying "this is not enclosed" means that if the boundary made of ashes or mounds, etc., is moved or changed, one does not become a thief. That which is said, "taking openly without concealing is stealing," means that if one steals and takes something in front of the owner's eyes, and it is not concealed, one does not become a thief, like a monk not stealing the lost items of a cloth merchant. That which is said, "a person seizes by force and takes possession," means that if a person seizes by force and then takes possession, and uses it up, then it becomes stealing. That which is said, "I am not like that," means that if one escapes from the hands of a thief, etc., it does not become a case of me stealing myself. That which is said, "separating what one desires to steal from what one does not desire to steal is not taking," means that, for example, if valuable jewelry clothes come next to old clothes, only the value of what one desires to steal is calculated, and it is not added to the value of the incidental items that one did not think of stealing. If someone promises to give whatever they obtain to someone else, and others steal it, it is a major offense, meaning that if a thief promises to share the benefits with an accomplice, and a monk does it, it becomes a major offense of stealing from others. That which is said, "taking from a cemetery with an owner is also," means that taking something from a cemetery with an owner also becomes a major offense. That is to say, if the owner knows and possesses this cemetery and the organs within it, like the executioners of Yama, etc., and this thing belongs to those with authority, taking it from complete possession becomes a major offense. Radishes, trees, leaves, flowers, and fruit gardens, etc., causing them to wither with mantras, means that if these things are caused to wither with mantras, what will happen? It shows a slight major offense. That which is said, "stealing a horse should be done like this," means pressing or pulling with equipment, or moving the horse with the body.
