Failure. To what extent does washing with mantras lead to failure? Summoning with mantras means "appearance." Guiding treasures and the like with mantras, whenever they appear before one's eyes, that is the cause of failure. Even if many mantra practitioners gather and summon, if it appears before the eyes of only one, all fail. Stealing by moving heavy objects, etc., to what extent does it lead to failure? From following and transporting, carrying or returning, or fleeing, or hiding, or climbing, thus taking away is the same as what should not be done before. If the property of the Khenpo or teacher is taken and one walks away as before, generally, carrying the stolen object from the place of theft, returning from the road or fleeing alone, hiding or climbing from below to above, etc., however it is done, as long as it becomes invisible, the stolen object becomes invisible, and the person who should not do it becomes invisible, that is failure. Boats from fields, canals, and lakes, etc., stealing from these places where boats are kept leads to failure because of invisibility. This is just an example, other things like wood are the same. Stealing from a river, to what extent does it lead to failure? It is also the same as the usual flow. Riding the water and taking it away by stealing also leads to failure because of invisibility. Directly, the opposite bank does not appear. Taking and stealing directly, if the opposite bank does not appear, whenever the boat itself becomes invisible, that is failure. Otherwise, reaching there is it. If the opposite bank appears, reaching the opposite bank is failure. Upstream is, exceeding the embankment. Stealing against the flow of water, if the boat exceeds the embankment, that is failure. Diverting water and stealing, to what extent does it lead to failure? In order to want to accomplish one's own work, diverting or stopping water for the work of others is more than the remainder. In order to say that one's own field is good, changing the canal, not calculating the amount of water, diverting and holding water, calculating the increase and decrease, if the value is complete, that is failure. Wanting to steal a share, providing an opportunity for thieves, will it fail? Therefore, providing a reason to help thieves, obtaining a share is it. In order to obtain a share from the thieves, acting as an informant, taking it from that share, that is failure.

If one encroaches upon land and houses and steals, by what means will one be defeated? Encroaching upon land and houses means reaching the boundary. Encroaching upon land and houses, if one circles from the surrounding foundation or fence to the environment, one will be defeated by that. If one steals by using the other party's property as a white wager, by what means will one be defeated? Regarding the wager, if one wins in the king's entourage. If the wager is lost and one steals, as a wager, then when one is judged to be victorious, one will be defeated. If it is not as a wager, but the white wager is lost below, when will one be defeated? If the arbitrator is there, the other party will cut off the hope of combining. The lower arbitrator judges our side to be victorious, and he himself cuts off the hope of increasing the wager, then the moment the hope is cut off, one will be defeated. What will the judgment of the lower arbitrator become? This is the combination. The lower arbitrator judges victory, this is the combination, it is shown roughly. Since gambling theft has not been described in detail above, the reason for falling and not falling from the distinction is briefly shown: Without the intention to steal, do not doubt that guilt will arise in the lineage of gambling. When a monk does not have the power to gamble, entrusting gambling to laypeople, and when he has the power, learning the property of laypeople, the Blessed One said that there is no fault in these two cases, because the laypeople think that the entrustment is fair and equal, and one does not distinguish that one has the power to gamble and the other party does not have the power to gamble, because one thinks that everything taken has the power to gamble, so for these two cases, because there is no intention to steal, do not generate doubt, this is the sutra confirmed by the teacher himself. This is to show that whatever property is taken, it is used to entrust. Whatever property is taken and gambled, it is used to entrust gambling. Now, in order to show the thing itself, taking another's property because one has the power is not not stealing. A monk, because he has the power to gamble, if he takes another's property that does not belong to him, it is shown as stealing. One who does not have the power should not let others gamble, meaning that if a monk does not have the power to gamble, he should entrust it to laypeople and not gamble. If one gambles, one will be defeated. In order to eliminate other situations that are also like thieves.
