It has been shown above in one way that revealing secrets means that if one is accused without guilt, it is called purification. If one is accused without guilt, it is to be eliminated through mindfulness and non-confusion. How many ways are there to accuse without guilt? There are four ways to accuse: without substance, due to error, not relying on remedy, and done by speech. If one accuses in these four ways, it is called accusing without guilt. Among them, "without substance" means that there is no object of offense at all. "Due to error" means that, for example, if one has not finished the remaining things, but says that one has committed a downfall, it is a mistaken refutation. "Not relying on remedy" means that after the remedy for the offense has been done, one still accuses and refutes. "Done by speech" means that after speaking, one commits an offense when one does not remember. If one refutes in these four ways, how can one purify oneself? The three substances are understood by giving the discipline of mindfulness, and the last one is understood by giving the discipline of non-confusion. That is to say, for the three offenses of without substance, due to error, and not relying on remedy, if one says that one does not remember committing an offense, or does not remember doing an offense, then combining it with what is said, one can purify oneself. For "done by speech," if one has not spoken, and when one remembers, one does not remember committing an offense, then abandoning it on that basis, one can purify oneself. Revealing the dispute of downfalls means that there are three situations in which an offender argues: without basis, and with division, there are two situations: one-sided and the entire Sangha. That is to say, these three situations mentioned above are the dispute of downfalls. Among them, what is "division"? It is to be divided into various factions. That is to say, the Sangha being divided into various factions is division. Revealing the remedies for these is that the substance is to take acceptance as the remedy, and so on. That is to say, for the situation without division, admitting "I have committed an offense" becomes the remedy. The second is the direct discipline, that is to say, for the offense that becomes a one-sided division, summoning, stating, and confessing in front of the Sangha, along with the accusation, one can reconcile. The third is covering the grass, that is to say, for the offense that becomes a division of the entire Sangha, internal reconciliation, like covering the grass, can become the remedy. When internally reconciling,

So, how should the method of confession be done? For the benefit of the many, one person should confess to someone who is not a member of the Sangha, that is to say, one of the parties who has committed an offense, for the benefit of all, should confess the offenses committed to a person who is not confessing to the Sangha. Confessing multiple offenses at the same time means that in the case of multiple offenses, they should also be confessed at the same time. How should the reason for confessing at the same time be stated? The offenses committed should be stated and made known, that is, what offenses were committed and who committed them should be stated and made known to the other party. When should this be done? In many different factions, that is, if the various factions reach a reconciliation, then this should be done first. Not admitting guilt or hesitating does not count as confession, that is, admitting guilt, or not admitting guilt and confessing hesitantly, does not count as confession. It is permissible to talk about it at the same time, that is, multiple offenses can also be talked about to multiple people at the same time. Talking is also the same, that is, it can also be talked about by multiple people to one person. If this is permissible, is there a limit to the number? There is no limit to the number here, that is, it can be talked about at any time, there is no limit to the number. One who is careful in body and speech, knows the Tripitaka, and sincerely does not propagate things that are contrary to the Dharma and discipline in the Sangha, a speaker who possesses these three qualities should be respected, that is, a speaker who possesses these three qualities should be respected. To know the Dharma is to understand the meaning of things. To know the discipline is to know the rituals of behavior. If the discipline is corrupted and heresy is propagated, it should be stopped immediately, that is, if someone talks about it because the discipline is corrupted and heresy is propagated, then the Sangha should stop it immediately after hearing it. If this is not the case, and although one holds the Tripitaka but does not understand its meaning, then one should be whipped, that is, if one is not careful in body and speech, nor propagates heresy, and although one holds the Tripitaka but does not understand its meaning, then one should be whipped innocently when talking about it. A speaker who possesses these three qualities should be respected, and his advice can be adopted directly without investigation.
