English
It should be written down. Here, "person" refers to anyone, whether a householder or a renunciate. The mark of a householder is to dress in the manner of one who has not renounced. Knowing the marks of non-Buddhists involves making tooth marks on the spur of the moment and carrying clan amulets, etc. Relying on non-Buddhists means clinging to and being inclined towards them. Practicing what is improper means engaging in sexual misconduct and violating precepts. Not learning the precepts of a bhikshu means not learning to abstain from killing, etc. "Unkempt" refers to hair that is naturally disheveled, etc. Slandering the sangha means being arrogant, quarrelsome, and lacking harmony. Feeling remorse means being aware of wrongdoing. "Doing Vajra" means ejaculating and accumulating. Reversing from the sign means abandoning and relinquishing the object for which one has decided. Petitioning means that when petitioning the sangha, if one does not initially petition for purity, even if one has done as the predecessors did, one should not be impure. When petitioning, one also indicates other tasks to be done, such as assigning work. Expulsion, the death of a fully ordained person, expulsion, etc., also mean that if one petitions for these names mentioned, one should first do it. Among these, "assigning" means starting to build houses and temples, etc. "Expelling" means expelling from the remainder. "Fully ordained" means bestowing the precepts of a bhikshu. "Foundation" means not going home but abandoning the precepts one has taken. "Expelling" means throwing away the begging bowl upside down. Having thus explained the general way of cutting off offenses, distinguishing and indicating the order of cutting off from the objects of offenses, such as quarreling and fighting, is called "reproaching by action," meaning that for those who quarrel and fight, punishment should be inflicted. If the remaining property of the sangha is treated roughly, not repaired, and destroyed, if this is done, it should be cut off with the punishment of stripping the robes. Expelling a layperson, i.e., "expelling," if this is done, in order to abandon beauty, one should be expelled from the place where he lives. For this reason, begging is not allowed, nor is arguing allowed, and even if it is not seen, it is proclaimed, i.e., the expulsion.
