"Not abandoning" means not to do like taking something and then getting angry or eating it and putting it back, discarding it. Taking from the two perfections of view and discipline and giving to those who are not in that order, and even after being full, taking a few more mouthfuls of food, saying that the offering of faith is wasted, means taking from those who have perfected the view and giving to those who have not perfected the view, and taking from those who have perfected the discipline and giving to those who have not perfected the discipline, and even after being full, it is okay to eat a few more mouthfuls of food, but the offering of faith will be wasted. Since that is the case, is it not permissible to give to anyone? No. It should be distributed to parents, the sick, those who wish to become monks, pregnant women, those who are to be tamed, beggars, and those who come to that household. Giving to such people is without fault. Among them, parents are the field of repaying kindness, and the sick and those who wish to become monks are the field of begging. Pregnant women are the object of compassion. Those who are to be tamed are for the purpose of accomplishing the means of gathering. Begging refers to lay people begging intentionally. Coming to that household means that if they come to the household of someone who is eating, they should be given food. Some wine residue should be left, offerings should not be interrupted, and offerings should also be given to animals. This means that when eating, offerings to anyone should not be interrupted, some food should be left, and offerings should also be given to crows and other animals. Food prepared for eating should not be given away before it is finished, which means that before one has finished eating, one should not give it to others. Offerings prepared with faith should also not be given away, which means that if someone has prepared food for me with faith, before I have finished eating it, because it is connected to their intention, it can be given to others. When eating leftovers, the leftovers in the bowl should be handled well, which means that leftovers or scraps should be given to those who have no food. Offerings should be given to the residents, and the rituals of the morning and so on should be performed according to the rituals, which means that the protectors of the temple, morning and evening, etc., should each give offerings outside according to those rituals. When the mango has not yet grown fruit, do not eat the resin, which means when the fruit mango has not ripened.
