In border areas, the use of inferior leather is permitted, with the boundaries of the center and the periphery gradually becoming clear. The eastern boundary is: the eastern side is similar to Puta, in front of Dhana, a garden called Puta Kacha. The southern boundary is: the river named Sharapate in the south. The western boundary is: the Brahmin cities of Sthuna and Upasthuna. The northern boundary is: Mount Ushira. Wearing shoes in border areas means that shoes can be worn in border areas other than the aforementioned boundaries. It is also permissible to hide mattresses, meaning that shoes can be worn even in the central area for the sake of the Sangha's bedding. The terms "single layer," "sewing and repairing," and "not other layers" mean that only a single layer of sole should be made, and if it breaks, it should be patched with two layers, stitched like a yak's eye. If a householder walks more than seven steps, multiple layers are also permissible. This means that no matter how many steps a householder takes, shoes with multiple layers of soles can be worn. Taking something for suitability, not taking something unsuitable, means that if a householder gives a monk shoes with multiple layers of soles, it is not inappropriate to take them to make them into a single layer, or it is not a sin to take them for the purpose of repairing them to make them suitable. The terms "no patterns," "not like a sheep's horn," "not like the leaves of the Bodhi tree and oleander," and "not decorated with gold and silver" mean that doing things like these names mentioned should not be mixed. Among them, "like a sheep's horn" means not to make it like the wrinkles of a sheep's horn where a finger is inserted. "The leaves of the Bodhi tree and oleander" means not to make leaf-slit patterns like the leaves of these trees. The terms "do not 'tsk tsk'," "do not 'click click'," "do not 'hiss hiss'," "do not 'swish swish'," and "do not become arrogant" mean making these sounds, and not doing other actions that generate arrogance and conceit. It is not permissible to rush, and the tip and heel
