Because it belongs to. Also, it is said "also" for killing those who rely on the appearance of other beings. The word "also" is spoken to follow the reason that "not being one's own being is not non-being." For example, if one kills a non-human or animal relying on the appearance of the body of another being with eye medicine and mantras, it is like only defeat occurs because it is killing the human itself. Similarly, if one kills a non-human showing the appearance of the body of another being of humans and animals, it becomes a gross offense because it is killing the non-human itself. Similarly, if one kills an animal relying on the appearance of the body of another being of humans and non-humans, it is like it becomes a downfall because it is killing the animal itself. This sutra is not connected to all categories of downfalls such as not giving, but only to the occasion of killing. Here, the establishment of downfall is established by the power of the object, not only by the power of perception. Therefore, if a monk kills a being belonging to the human realm, relying on the appearance of the body of another being of non-humans and animals, whether he recognizes it there or elsewhere, at the time of killing, the main thing is only defeat. In the preliminary action, if he recognizes that it belongs to the human realm, it is a gross offense. If he recognizes that it belongs to the non-human and animal realm, it is a misdeed. If he kills a being belonging to the non-human realm, relying on the appearance of the body of another being of humans and animals, whether he recognizes it there or elsewhere, at the time of killing, the main thing is a gross offense.

If one thinks it belongs to the animal realm, then it is a minor offense. Here, if one thinks it is Devasdatta and kills the offering, it will not lead to defeat, because these two are different continuums. If one thinks it is Devasdatta, the offering giver will not be defeated by the offering, which is reasonable. Here, because it is the same continuum, due to the wrong perception of the action, the fault of the action will become larger or smaller, but in reality, due to the act of killing, the fault will change according to the actual situation. Here, the Jataka of Utrayana should be remembered. For example, even if the one with the topknot did not know that his father had attained Arhatship, the father sent a message to his son saying, "You have committed two heinous crimes, because you killed your father and an Arhat," and so on. For other actions such as taking what is not given, touching the body, learning clothes, giving clothes, begging for alms, standing and sitting in a prostitute's house, etc., a distinction is made here. For the time being, regarding taking what is not given, if the stolen object belongs to the human continuum and the person appears in the form of another realm, but because the giver of the downfall is fully accepted as belonging to the human continuum, then for that situation, the fault will change according to the actual situation. If it is not thought of in this way, then it should be judged according to its nature. For actions such as touching the body, distinctions are made according to the name. Obtaining another state is not another, that is to say, if one body that is not an Arhat, etc., obtains another state such as Arhatship, then his continuum is not another. Therefore, if someone takes action to kill in a state that is not an Arhat, and kills him when he attains Arhatship, then he will definitely commit both defeat and heinous crime, because obtaining another state of Arhatship is not another continuum. If the fault disappears, that is different, meaning that the fault disappears, referring to the fault that arises from making a cushion, etc., for someone.
