If it becomes a place for sexual activity, it constitutes an offense. If someone who has taken full monastic vows allows it to be done, then whether they allow it to be done or do it themselves, it constitutes such an offense, that is its meaning. Here, the principle is that just as with the thought of joy, it is the same with the thought of making others joyful. Just as with the thought of playfulness, it is the same with the thought of making others playful. Just as with the thought of happiness, it is the same with the thought of making others happy, so it is said. If one does or allows others to do something with any thought, does it constitute an offense here? Therefore, it is said, "With the desire to experience joy through frivolity." It means with the thought of wanting to experience joy through frivolity. Here, some sutras say: "If a monk splashes water in the manner of a pot, it all constitutes a downfall." Therefore, saying "Because of wanting calmness, there is no downfall in jumping, etc." is because if one does or allows others to do something with the desire to experience joy through laughter, it constitutes a downfall here, therefore, because of wanting calmness, there is no downfall in jumping, etc. The word "etc." includes sinking and emerging, etc., and there is no downfall in doing these or allowing others to do them. "When learning to swim, there is no downfall in striving directly or lying on one's back," it means that with the thought of learning to swim, there is no downfall in striving directly or lying on one's back. "Because of wanting coolness, there is also no downfall in drawing patterns on hot things," it means that because of wanting coolness and purity, there is no downfall in drawing patterns on hot meat, etc., by stirring, etc. The point about "playing in the water constitutes a downfall" has already been explained. So, what constitutes the downfall of sleeping with a woman? Therefore, it is said, "Sleeping with a woman in the same place," it means that a monk sleeps with a woman in the same place. When does sleeping constitute a downfall? Therefore, it is said, "At night," it means at night. Does any moment of all nights constitute a downfall? Therefore, it is said, "Finally."

It is finished, at the last moment of the night. If there is no falling before the last moment of the night? Therefore, it is said, "In front is the transgression," in front of the last moment of the night is the transgression. Here, for a powerless woman, a male hermaphrodite, a female hermaphrodite, a non-human, an emanation, and a powerless animal itself is also a transgression, then for those who have any size of powerlessness, etc., should it be known there? Therefore, it is said, "The size of a sparrow is the end of doing that thing," meaning that other than the actual action, for anything that has the size of a sparrow, that is the size of a sparrow. It is said that "the end of doing that thing" means that it should be known as the end of doing the transgression. Here it is shown that if one sleeps together in one place at night with that size, it will become a transgression, and in front it will become a minor transgression. The downfall of sleeping with a woman, that has already been said. For whom will it become a hateful offense? Therefore, even if thinking of mocking, or wanting to intimidate, preparing the cause of fear in advance, making them afraid. So-and-so, saying to the monk, if others also hear, even if fear does not arise. It is said, "Even if thinking of mocking," meaning even if thinking of laughing. The word "also" means that even preparing anger in advance is also possible. It is said, "wanting to hate," meaning wanting to generate fear. Then, why is it necessary to mention this distinction of wanting to hate? Because preparing the cause of fear in advance, making them hear, will it itself become wanting to hate? It is not so, even without wanting to hate, there is preparing the cause of fear in advance, making them hear. If one thinks like this, I have experienced many kinds of experiences where fear has never arisen from me, but let me laugh for a while, when thinking like this, even without wanting to hate, there is a cause of fear.

Because there is a case of preparing in advance to make it understood, it is necessary to explain this difference of "wanting to make it afraid." The so-called "cause of fear" is unpleasant things, that is, preparing in advance to make it understood will become the fault of making it afraid. There are two ways to make it understood, namely, the meaning and the thing to be understood. Among them, the understanding of meaning is expressed by "making it afraid." If you ask: How to make it afraid to make it understood? Therefore, it is said "so and so." If you ask: What to make it understood? Therefore, it is said "to the monk," that is, to other monks. If you ask: Do other people also understand? It means that not only oneself understands, but if one lets other people understand, it will also become a complete fault. The so-called "even if fear has not arisen" means that even if the monk has not produced fear, it will become a complete fault. The meaning of this "also" word is that after fear arises, it will only become a fault. If you ask: What kind of cause of fear, preparing in advance to make it understood, will become what kind of fault? Therefore, it is said "unpleasant things are fundamental," meaning that if you prepare in advance to make it understood unpleasant images, etc., it will become a fundamental fault. In order to illustrate unpleasant things with examples, it is said "For example, like this, for example, disgusting corpses, carnivores, sores, rotten bodies, images like black moles, coal, and burning pillars, sounds like lions, tigers, bears, dolphins, leopards, and foxes, smells like feces, urine, raw meat, and their fishy smell, touch like lice, bedbugs, and rough touch," meaning that these illustrate the differences in the images, sounds, smells, and touch of disgusting corpses, etc., that is, if you proclaim and make it understood disgusting corpses, etc. with such images, sounds, smells, tastes, and touch, "here there are," it will become a fundamental fault. The three words "black moles, coal, and burning pillars" illustrate the difference in the images of disgusting corpses, etc. Lion
