If it is neither a relative nor a non-relative, and if one begs through verbal expression and obtains a bowl, then the resulting action will constitute a fault. In order to show that this principle applies similarly to other training grounds, it is said, "These two also apply to the following two." That is to say, what are the following two training grounds? It refers to the concepts of "non-relative" and "householder" that need to be understood. In order to generally explain the statement "also applies to the following two," it is said, "It is also the same for ropes, offerings, and other things." Ropes, offerings, and other things refer to non-relatives and householders. Although the scriptures say, "Other things are also the same," it should be understood that the word "other" includes these contents. Therefore, the meaning of the statement in the scriptures, "If one takes it without payment from there, or has a messenger or other person weave it," should be understood as being included in the word "other." What is being explained here is: if the weaving craftsman, the giver of offerings, the messenger, etc., other than the patron, etc., are non-relatives or householders, then one will commit the latter two types of offenses. Just as one treats non-relatives, if one treats relatives, there is no fault except for profiting and the bowl. The "just as one treats non-relatives" here refers to establishing faults within the scope of non-relatives. That is to say, for non-relatives, if begging for wealth or other actions constitute a fault, then if one begs from relatives, it will not constitute a fault, and this principle should be understood; this is its meaning. If one treats relatives, there is no fault except for profiting and the bowl, which means that even if one treats relatives, in the training ground of profiting, if one wants to increase benefits, such as obtaining benefits through false means or buying and selling, and in the training ground of seeking a bowl, if the bowl exceeds the limit, then a fault will arise. For all other situations, it should be understood that just as treating non-relatives will produce a fault, treating relatives will not produce a fault. Even in these two situations, it is still to be blamed. The main text

There is no falling. Here, the scriptures distinguish: If a weaver is a relative, if (he) weaves a monk's robe, if he is a relative, there is no falling, what is said? Giving food and so on to naked heretics, if they are relatives, there is no falling, what is said? When begging, begging food from relatives and eating it oneself, and giving wool to naked heretics, if one wants to free (them) from the views of sinners and gives, there is no falling. If they are relatives, it is the same, what is said. Incidentally, if one begs from non-relative householders and searches everywhere, then the falling that is spoken of belongs to that situation, in order to explain this, it should be said: One commits a minor offense, meaning that merely searching for a bowl will cause a minor offense. If one succeeds from that (place), it is the main act, meaning that if one begs from non-relative householders, searches for a bowl, and if one obtains a bowl, one will commit a fundamental offense. For those who have the idea of going from nothing to something, one will be reproached, for nothing, it means, for the situation where the previous bowl that could be blessed does not exist, that is, due to faults such as breakage or loss, it has disappeared. For those who have the idea of having, it means, for those who have the idea of having, that is, for those who think in their hearts that they have another bowl. One will be reproached, it means, if a certain monk, in the situation where the previous bowl that could be blessed does not exist, thinks in his heart that he has another bowl, and at that time, if he searches for another bowl, then one should know that for him, the fundamental falling will be reproached, this is the summary of the sentence "one will commit a minor offense." When searching for a bowl and finding it, because the previous bowl no longer exists for that monk, it will not become a remaining bowl. Here the scriptures say: If a monk takes another bowl without damaging the bowl, is there a situation where he will not fall? The answer is: Yes, if he takes it, and the bowl is damaged without any interval before or after, there is no falling, this is what is said. Here, because the situation of not abandoning (the old bowl) is considered, it is said that there is no falling. Therefore, it is a minor offense arising from the action.
