I, a monk, have committed a Sanghavasesa offense against the Sangha, similar to a medium offense, and it has been aggravated again. For this reason, I request that I be satisfied by starting anew from the Sangha. I beseech the compassionate venerable Sangha, for the sake of compassion, that I, the monk Charka, having committed a Sanghavasesa offense against the Sangha, similar to a medium offense, and it having been aggravated again, may be granted satisfaction by starting anew. Repeat three times. Venerable Sangha, please listen. The monk Charka asks, having committed a Sanghavasesa offense from a certain place. This monk Charka has come to the Sangha, and because he has committed a Sanghavasesa offense from a certain place, he requests a six-day period of satisfaction from the Sangha. The Sangha grants the monk Charka a six-day period of satisfaction because he has committed a Sanghavasesa offense from a certain place. Because a Saṃghāvaśeṣa offense arising from… has occurred, therefore, I request the Saṃgha to grant a six-night mānatva (period of penance). The Saṃgha then grants to Bhikṣu so-and-so, because a Saṃghāvaśeṣa offense arising from… has occurred, a six-night mānatva. While this Bhikṣu is undergoing mānatva, an offense similar to the previous Saṃghāvaśeṣa offense also occurs. This Bhikṣu so-and-so comes to the Saṃgha, and because an offense similar to the previous Saṃghāvaśeṣa offense has occurred again, he requests the Saṃgha to grant mānatva from the beginning.
