He himself takes and eats the precepts of discipline given by the Sangha, and the food and drink from his house, except for mustard, radishes, and turnips. If any of these are incomplete, they should be reproached accordingly. The sin of preparation is a misdeed, that is, as long as one initiates the preparation for breaking the precepts and entering the lay life, each preparation for confession, up to the main action, is a misdeed. In the main action, each different preparation that is initiated has its own misdeed. Whoever breaks the precepts and enters the lay life is a very greedy person, therefore this sin is established, and if one is greedy at any time, it is a misdeed. The sin of preparation for preparation is a minor misdeed, as many preparations as there are, there are as many preparations for preparation, and the preparation for the misdeed of preparation is also a misdeed, that is, a minor misdeed. There is no sin if one is invited as a guest beforehand. There is no sin for mustard, radishes, and turnips in abundance. There is no sin for beginners, the insane, those with disturbed minds, and those who are afflicted by feelings. What should be learned is that a monk, in all places and at all times, should learn not to associate in any way with matters of breaking the precepts and entering the lay life, each of which requires confession. If a faithful patron is seen to become poor if he gives alms, the Sangha should give the precepts of discipline of the lay life. Giving this precept is only by the act of requesting. After giving this precept, understanding his intention, the monk should enter the lay life. He should enjoy the seat, teach the Dharma, not beg for alms, and not enter with an empty bowl. For the children who beg, he should not give complete food, but should cut it into pieces and give it. Mustard and radishes, etc., fruits and roots, and turnips, etc., vegetables, should be taken from the lay life. If the faithful patron wants to break the precepts of discipline of the lay life, he should be allowed to do so. That is, first the patron himself requests to break the precepts of discipline of the lay life.

It is done. Then the Sangha should stop him with the act of exhortation. There, the monks should go, enjoy the seats, receive alms, and teach the Dharma. The subsequent treatment is as before. The Pratimoksha offense of breaking vows and returning to lay life, the third one, has been explained. The origin of the Pratimoksha offense arising from forest dwelling is that the Buddha Bhagavan, while residing in the Shakya place of the Shakya territory, accepted to spend the summer retreat there. The Bhagavan said to the monks, "In seven or eight days, there will be the ending of the rains retreat, so you should say in the villages of the practice area, 'In so many days, there will be the ending of the rains retreat.'" The monks listened and proclaimed it. Then, the Shakyas residing in the Shakya territory, on the fifteenth ending of the rains retreat, went to where the Bhagavan was, prostrated with their heads at the feet of the Bhagavan, and sat down on one side. Having sat down on one side, the Bhagavan taught, inspired, encouraged, and delighted the Shakyas residing in the Shakya territory with Dharma-related teachings. In various ways, with Dharma-related teachings, he truly taught, inspired, encouraged, and delighted them, and then remained silent. Then, the Shakyas residing in the Shakya territory were overjoyed and rejoiced at the Bhagavan's teachings, and then said this to the Bhagavan: "Venerable One, tomorrow, please accept our meal offering with the Sangha of monks. Tomorrow, some monks should not go for alms, we will prepare the alms ourselves, and with our own hands, we will satisfy and strengthen the Bhagavan and the Sangha of listeners." The Bhagavan did not speak to the Shakyas residing in the Shakya territory, indicating his permission. Then, they returned to the Shakya territory, and that night, they prepared clean and delicious food.

Having done that, they got up early the next morning, filled the carts with food and drink, and said to the Shakya women: "You ride the carts, go now, and we will follow behind." They adorned themselves with all kinds of ornaments, rode the carts, and set off. Because the area near Kapilavastu was dense, they were seen on the road by robbers, who said: "Wise ones, these Shakya women adorned with all kinds of ornaments are coming, come and rob them." The leader of the robbers said: "Wise ones, they are coming, but what is the use of you robbing them? The Shakyas are fierce and can suppress others, let them go." They said: "Leader, who has seen the back of the moon? Let's rob them." They did not listen to him, robbed them, took all their clothes and ornaments, and left. Those Shakya women were afraid and terrified, and hid naked in the bushes and forests. The charioteers also fled in fear. The oxen also crossed the river and wandered and stayed as they pleased. The carts were also separated from the yokes and stood there. The group of six monks began to discuss with each other, "Ananda and Upali, the unrestrained Shakyas have been delayed for a long time, shall we fast? Let's go begging for alms." Having decided this, they took their bowls and robes and set off. After a while, on the road they saw carts full of food and drink, separated from the yokes, standing there, and the oxen had crossed the river and were wandering and staying as they pleased. They looked at each other and began to shout: "Wise ones, who is here?" They made a sound, and the group of six monks said: "Who are you?" "Venerables, we are the Shakya women. Come and give us alms." "Venerables, we have been robbed by robbers and are now naked. Please cover us with umbrellas and clothes. Whatever parts of your bodies we have not seen before, come and cover them up." They covered themselves with leaves and came out to give alms, and the group of six monks said: "Ananda and Upali, look, look! What are the eyes of these Shakya women
