The so-called "superior" means higher than that. The so-called "cutting and falling" means that after cutting the object, one should confess the fall of the falling sin. The so-called "falling sin" is the same as before. Here, the fundamental sins are classified as follows: A bhikkhu's cushion, three cubits in length and two cubits plus four fingers in width. If that is not enough, you can increase the length by half a cubit and a span, which is half a cubit plus five fingers. The sutra says that no matter what the width is, if it exceeds the size, or if others are allowed to exceed the size, it will become the fundamental sin caused by the cushion. The author here is the size of his own cushion. With four conditions, it will become a fundamental sin: that is, one's own cushion, exceeding the size, the material is suitable, and it is made by oneself or the designated person. If these conditions are incomplete, then blame as appropriate. The sin caused by the cushion is the eighty-seventh. The origin of the sin caused by sewing sore clothes is: The Buddha Bhagavan lived in Jeta Grove, Anathapindika Garden in Shravasti. The Blessed One said, "A bhikkhu can have someone sew a sore cloth." The bhikkhus had people sew sore clothes that were over-sized. Some bhikkhus were therefore scolded by the Blessed One, saying, "A bhikkhu can have someone sew a sore cloth." The bhikkhus had people sew sore clothes that were too large, and were scolded, condemned, and criticized. The bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said as before, "If a bhikkhu has someone sew a sore cloth, it should be sewn according to the size." The size of sewing sore clothes is: the length is four spans of the Sugata, and the width is two spans. If you let people sew more than this size, you will make the "cutting and falling sin." The place is Shravasti, the object is a very large number of bhikkhus, the affliction is not knowing the size, and the sin is letting people sew sore clothes that exceed the size. The so-called "bhikkhu" refers to the holder of this Dharma. The so-called "sewing sore clothes" refers to sick clothes. The so-called "allowing" refers to oneself or others. Make according to size.
