Protection, refuge, non-deterioration, absence of infectious diseases, complete absence of suffering, happiness, peace, good foundation, making happiness, absence of disease, immovability, nirvana, thus it is said. What is called complete abandonment refers to the teachings, and is the remaining explanation. Individual abandonment is spoken of in terms of all entanglements, because it is to abandon birth. Abandonment is synonymous with discarding and relinquishing. Accomplished ultimately, because it ultimately accomplishes the latent tendencies. It is spoken of in terms of abandoning latent tendencies, because without the root, fire will never arise, which is a synonym. That is also established as two types based on the difference between the antidotes of the path of seeing and the path of meditation. Exhaustion, detachment from desire, what is called this is spoken of as exhaustion because of separation by the path of seeing. Because only a small amount of the aggregates of afflictions remain. Detachment from desire by the path of meditation, because its ground has become detached from desire, therefore it is completely separated. If there are those two separations, then suffering will also cease in the future, because it has been made into the nature of non-arising. In the seen dharma, unpleasantness is close to pacification, because that has no universal usage. Therefore, speaking of abandoning the two types of suffering that have become its fruit, cessation is close to tranquility. The remainder is said to be extinguished because there is no harm. Having done that, it should be known that complete abandonment is shown. The unconditioned is the opposite of the conditioned because it does not possess the three characteristics. Difficult to see because it has truly transcended the realm of activity of the flesh and divine eyes. Immovable because it does not possess going and moving. Without knots because it does not possess the three cravings, because there is no desire, form, or formless craving, therefore there is no knot for arising. Immortality is because it is separated from the demon of the aggregates, it is a synonym for saying there is no aggregate, the basis of death. Without outflows because it is separated from the demon of afflictions. Abode because it relies on the bliss and joy of liberation. Island because it is completely cut off from the three realms, it is because it has become land from the great ocean of samsara.
