If asked in this way, Shariputra, how should you answer? Venerable, if someone comes to me and asks in this way, I would answer that there is. Shariputra, if someone comes to you and asks: Shariputra, in the present time, is there any Shramana or Brahmin who is equal and the same as Shramana Gautama in attaining perfect enlightenment? If asked in this way, Shariputra, how should you answer? Venerable, if someone comes to me and asks in this way, I would answer that there is not. Shariputra, if someone comes to you and asks: Shariputra, why do some Shramanas and Brahmins of the past, future, and present rejoice, and some do not rejoice? If asked in this way, Shariputra, how should you answer? Venerable, if someone comes to me and asks in this way, I would answer in this way: In the past, Shramanas or Brahmins were equal and the same as the Blessed One in attaining perfect enlightenment. In the future, other Shramanas and Brahmins will be equal and the same as the Blessed One in attaining perfect enlightenment. It is not possible or an opportunity for two Tathagatas, Arhats, perfectly enlightened Buddhas to appear in the world without precedence, but it is possible for one to appear. This is what I have heard directly from the Blessed One and experienced directly. Venerable, the Blessed One is unsurpassed, that is, the one who has attained perfect enlightenment. The Blessed One completely knows everything and thoroughly understands everything. Shramana or Brahmin, from the Blessed One, that is, the one who has attained perfect enlightenment, knows, especially the superior knowledge, and there is no other knowledge to be known later. This passage comes from the last sutra of the first collection of the Long Agama. Similarly, the teacher Various Wisdoms incorporates this into the Four Hundred Verses, for all Shravakas.

Having realized. Your Dharma master, The unparalleled follower, Truly abiding near you, When explaining the profound Dharma of the Buddha, Subsequently, one should become a Buddha, Saying that this is not understanding the Dharma, Thus it is said. In the section called "Extremely Distinguishing Place and Time, Kalpas, and Meaning," Because the Venerable Shariputra did not understand the beginning and end of some other individuals, the Blessed One and Shariputra were dwelling in one place. When another individual was about to die, the Blessed One said to Shariputra: Shariputra, look at the birth above. He directly saw with the divine eye of the place of the fourth dhyana, but at that time, how many kalpas of birth had not become an object. Having arisen from samadhi, he said: Blessed One, I do not know. The Blessed One said: Arise from what you have seen, in this realm called the world, he was born in the womb of a woman named so-and-so. Again, the Blessed One and the Venerable Shariputra were dwelling in one place. When another individual came forth, the Blessed One called Shariputra and said: Shariputra, look at this individual who has served you for a long time. He saw with the direct knowledge of remembering many former abodes of the place of the fourth dhyana, but until then, how many former lives of long service had not become an object. Having arisen from samadhi, he said to the Blessed One: I do not know. The Blessed One said: Transcending what you have directly seen, he was born into the lineage of so-and-so and the relatives of so-and-so. Again, with great diligence, even after observing for a long time, he did not see the roots of virtue corresponding to the division of liberation, and it was declared from coming forth to be ordained for the Venerable Shariputra. Therefore, this person's liberation, The seeds are extremely small, Viewed as gold in the crevices of the source stone, Like a Bhagalava. With the warmth of the nature of Samadhi wisdom, After the two attain liberation, You with your own actions, Manifest his

One will obtain land. Even if expansion is obtained, for this karma, the creation of fruit is not impossible. Gold that resides within stone will not appear if it is not smelted. Thus, the Blessed One extensively narrated how one attains Arhatship on the very day of ordination, as it is explained by the Venerable Young Lotus in the Garland of Examples, from the sixth and the sixth of the tenth chapter, from the example of the fear of the tiger. How the great Maudgalyayana's son also exerted effort for the benefit of five hundred pretas, and when asked about the places where they did not reside, they were hurled by the force of the wind of karma, and even though tormented with great effort, they did not know. The Blessed One sent forth the self-consciousness of many beings in advance, and they were born as gods and resided there, which comes from the fifth verse of the summary verses of the fifth chapter of the Hundred Parables. All conditioned phenomena other than the path are called defiled. The setting is in Shravasti. Then, the Blessed One called the monks and said: Monks, listen well and keep it in mind, I will explain the dharmas that are defiled and undefiled. What are the defiled dharmas? Whatever form is past, future, or present, if attachment and anger arise, and as long as feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, whether past, future, or present, if attachment and anger arise, this is called defiled. Whatever form is past, future, or present, if attachment and anger do not arise, and as long as feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness, whether past, future, or present, if attachment and anger do not arise, this is called undefiled. Monks, I have explained in detail what is defiled and undefiled. Having said this, the monks were greatly delighted by what the Blessed One had said. Here, the sutra says that whatever form is past, future, or present, if attachment and anger do not arise, this is because it prevents the arising of growth by focusing solely on the nature of attachment and anger, even if one focuses on the truth of the path with a wrong view, then...
